Dinner with forum friends
Yup, I did it again, I had dinner with "imaginary" friends. Maureen (msazadi) had emailed telling me she was going to Chicago and would stop on the way back with her DH to have supper with me, if I was game. Sherry (sheshebop) got a new job in Kalamazoo and so that seemed like a good place to be. I called Nancy (wizardnm), but she had to work and so couldn't come along and Peppi had some work commitments that kept her away, darn it.
Anyway, we all met at Bravo's Restaurant in Kalamazoo. Here we are, the lighting was very dim and so the picture didn't come out so well. Maureen's DH took this with my camera, hopefully the one he took with Maureen's camera will be more clear.

Oh yeah, we had supper. I had a "small plate", with scallops, roasted asparagus and barley salad. The scallops were very good, the barley was interesting. I'd never had barley cold before, I'm still thinking about it, LOL.
Sherry told us about her new job, she loves it. She was unemployed for quite some time, so it's nice she got the only job that was left in the whole state! Here she is telling us about it.

Maureen was sweet enough to bring me a great wedding gift, a nice pottery piece from the Baltimore Clayworks. It was dark enough in the restaurant that I couldn't read the paper inside, but it had the name and phone number of the Assistant who made it. The sales slip was also inside, LOL, but I gave that back to Maureen without even peeking. (grin) The pottery is beautiful, in the earth tones that I love so much. Elery liked it too, he says we'll need it when we actually have our own new place on the farm.
Sherry had to go home and I had an hour's drive to Elery's, so we didn't stay late, but we had a very nice visit. I was happy to see Maureen again, her DH and I talked about salmon fishing for a bit (he's much more successful at it than I am but he has to travel further, LOL). I was sorry to see them go, but happy for the opportunity to see them again.
I hope they travelled safely, Maureen says she'll put some pictures on when she gets home.
