I have one out there think its a Gateway 286/386 with the ultra fast 20 Hz cpu. Has a button for Turbo Boost.
Dual Floppies, one big salad plate sized one & one small tea sauser sized one.

The toolbar of icons I lost included the print icon, and all the usual other ones for which I now have to go to file and then press print, etc. etc.

Actually, I got this old computer through bartering. The former owners have moved to California.

So this toolbar is in some program and not a windows toolbar, right? For example, maybe it's in Word or Excel, rather than being along the side or the top of the screen when nothing is running other than Windows?

If that is the case, can you let us know what program you're using where you want to see the toolbar?

There's probably a mensu selection in the program for View, then in that, Toolbars. You probably unchecked one of the toolbars that had been checked before.

Right click on an open space on the toolbar that is there and see what is checked off to show and what has no tick. You can also play with the 'Customise' link too.

I will try this. I keep forgetting about right click options. I went into tools and clicked the pull down menu and clicked on customize. What came up were all the "buttons" I am missing. But all it indicated was that I needed to drag each button and place it at the top. I am not good at dragging but I could find no other options.Are there any??? I could not find any place where there were check marks, as are on newer programs.

BTW, I only use MSWord, so these buttons were at the top once and now are gone.

As for finding out how much space on my disks, another question I had, the right click did work for me in My Computer. Thanks.

In word what you're talking about is called the standard toolbar. Right click on an empty space on the bar that is under the blue bar at the top. You will get a drop down menu. Click on 'Standard' to put a check in front of it and your tool bar should appear.

Thanks, bob. I tried the above and got some of the buttons on the 2nd toolbar back. However, still missing is the print icon and I don't know how to get it back. Any ideas as to why some might be missing?

If you have the standard toolbar showing click tools > customize. In the 'customize' dialog box click on the 'command' tab. Now scroll down the list and find the print icon. Drag and drop it to where you want it on the toolbar. A dark double ended arrow will show when it is at a place where it can be dropped. You can add any of the commands this way.
