I have that problem every once in a while, except only for the Volume, the Safely Add/Remove is always there. I Googled and found the solution Mikie mentioned, for the Volume. It works, for a while, then the V button is gone again. System Restore always said no changes had been made. I've found that rather than going through the Options, a cold reboot will usually work. About the Safely A/R button: does anyone ever use it? DA, I remember from 'way back when there was a thread about that Invisible line. I think I found it then, but never have since then. ohhhhhh well MSN browser is a different animal than IE, and no it does not look the same you are correct. Did you try hitting the F11 key on the top of your keyboard to see if it had been minimized? I have msn browser on my xp machine, I just went and looked at it and if I right click up in the top area there is an option to restore have you tried clicking that? I don't know why you are using the msn browser, have you tried using firefox? It is so so so much better, really pretty much anything is better than that msn browser.

I don't believe you are talking about quick launch. I don't know any sure cure unless you restore to an earlier date. You can try a few other things. Open a program and at the top (Title Bar) right click it and click Maxmize and than click Minimize. Something else with a program open to maximize hold down on the Alt Key First and than the Spacebar and press N Try My Documents. It should Minimize to the Taskbar. You can also open a few things and click on Default. If you have changed your Icons in All Programs and click Default they will also change to Default. That's just a minor detail.

Ok, all, this is what I have. When I did the restore I was running IE 8, but had IE 7 when it restored back to Wed. So I assume I am now in 7. My tool bar seems to be Google, I don't think I have the IE tool bar which seems to be my problem. When I had it normally two days ago I had both. I had the IE bar (status, with tools, favs, etc), and also the Google bar. Now I only have the Google although it's restored back to Weds. Boy is that confusing enough??? BTW Mikie, I have hit the ALT and all I get is a dissappearing "circle".
