Lest we forget why we get pro ranges!

I just got my Viking oven fixed. Hooray! I made very yummy pizza. I sorely missed my oven.

My 30in Viking range has 2 x 15,000 burners in the oven.

The spec on the GE all gas range is 16,000 burner in the oven. I think it really makes a difference in baking pizzas and breads and meat cooking because of that intense heat source. For cookies and baking breads, I think it does NOT. (I had all gas GE range, and all gas Hotpoint range before the Viking.) I think electric ovens with exceptional even-ness bake cookies and cakes better....

Just my humble opinion after nearly a decade of use with my cobalt blue Viking. I love the way it cooks and I LOVE the color. For those of you that love color, order that special color! Why not!

Even with the performance boost, it really is a huge extra cost. If you can afford it, fine. If you can't, you can still make very fine meals with ranges that cost less than 1/2 of these pro ranges.
