Could I bother you again for good thoughts?

On Tuesday at noon a very good freind will be under the knife and we are a bit scared. Gene is the "contractor" that remodeled our 2 bathrooms, but more importantly, he is Dads best freind, and like a father to me.

Several weeks ago Gene had some odd chest pains and went to the ER. While the pains were diagnosed as heartburn, an upper body scan showed a growth on his kidney, the size of a large plum. The biopsy is being done. It might be a good sign but he has had no symptoms, no weight loss, no pains, no nothing, so we are hoping for the best news.

But I also know the power of this group, so I am asking for vibes, good thoughts and maybe a prayer or two for him, his DW, his 5 kids, spouses and grandkids, just to hedge our bets.

He can be crabby, moody, stubborn and a pain some days, but he is family to us.

He'll be in my prayers too, Peppi, hoping for a quick return to his normal "crabby, moody, stubborn" self promptly.

You love him so I'm sure I would and we need those guys to keep us in line. Hopefully, it's nothing.

heartzlink , I did nothing special at all. All of the info I am using to start out with is all on wintersow.org+ what others have so generously shared with me on their own experiences. I just took all the info and broke it into a seperate excel sheet for each month. For zone 7, here is the link. For zone 5 I copied all of this, deleted anything that did not germinate, ordered it but month sowed, seperated it into excel sheets on germination start month. No creativity here. Just cut and paste :) This is my first year wintersowing and I was feeling the newbie nerves. Thank you all for your kind words. She won't get the results of these tests until the 19th. I know she is sure going to be tired after only 4 hours sleep. I hope they find something with all these tests. Her DGM history really makes me so worried.

Why not head over to your local big box, pick up a few feet of each of these moldings and some double-stick tape? I suspect a little mocking-up might be better than trying to imagine your way through this.

Hi everyone, I posted an update about the Giz-man. I did notice that it seemed to fall to the 2nd or 3rd page pretty quickly.....I guess this place has been busy lately!! He got a shot, some antibiotics to take home, and some kind of oral rinse, which he is not happy about. He goes in next Wed. for a complete dental, all his lab work looked great the vet said, except for elevated white blood cells. She did not rule out that it could still be cancer. So we will hope and pray for the best. I can tell he feels better, and he hasn't pawed at his mouth at all, also when I sneak a peek in, like when he yawns (ha ha ) it isn't red anymore, so maybe, just maybe, we are going to be o.k. Sorry everyone. Things got a little crazy and I haven't had time to post.

Gene was finally out of recovery last night at 10 pm. The growth was cancer BUT they removed it and 20% of the kidney and he will be fine. Amen.

His DW asked that I pass on her thanks to all for the thoughts and wishes. It worked!

So.....THANK YOU!

Peppi, I'm so glad to hear the news--you are a good friend.

Now I'm only thinking of Gene as winter is coming so suggest to him that he can recover at my house...then get back into the swing of things on my bath remodel.

I agree with Cathy. Since our winters are so mild he could winter at my home and help earn his keep by doing a few projects around the house. But Cathy asked first....

He is home tonight and nicely drugged up for pain. The cut is only afew inches, but it hurts.

I will tell him he can visit FL, MI and LA, but ladies, keep in mind that he has a daughter in AZ that has a 5 year kitchen remodel going on. Don't ask....SIL wants his garage done first. But the lure of good cooking may just win.

Ahh...Peppi, Just now getting a chance to check in. Glad Gene is doing well and the worst is behind him.

Seems there is a line for his "services", so I'll just wish him a quick recovery....no carpentry required! LOL
