What e-mail program are you using. Also run the program in the link follow the directions and try to post a log that superantispyware creates so we can see what was removed. Let us know how it goes.

Outlook Express for email.

Ok lets try to clean up the pc first run the SuperAntiSpyware program it will clean out a lot of junk, & try to copy and paste a log into a reply here.

I already had SuperAntiSpyware. Today it found 420 tracking cookies, nothing more.

don't worry about command prompt that is on all our computers that is where you go to type in commands, windows users are not too familiar with it but those of us that use linux use it often in linux we open a terminal to type in commands.

But where is it suddenly appearing? did you have your pc worked on recently? if so they could have utilized command prompt and there fore it would be showing in the recently used list.

Be sure when you run the programs zep gave you to hit the update button first so it gets all the new info. They can help your pc speed up if you have some malware on there.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

Many techs will use the command prompt to do things. The tech probably used the command prompt for something and that's why it shows up in the recently used list.

Malware bytes found 7 items and they are now gone. I screwed up and did not save that file. The first time I tried to get Malware, I somehow managed to get SpyDoctor instead and that was the first report I gave. I have uninstalled SpyDoctor. I still would like to recover my lost email for the last month. It has some transaction records I need. Thanks again.

Not sure how to do that with outlook others here may know, in the mean time try a search on google for "Outlook Express Help" there is a good bit of information available.

I can not help you there I do not use outlook and don't know much about it.

Does outlook have a trash can maybe look there, What version of outlook?

Do you have the messages to hide after they have been opened. with outlook express open, look in view then make sure theres a dot in show all messages. they have gotten hidden.

The suggestion of patches is not the problem I have. Yes, the dot is there and always has been. I tried several of the suggestions and none have located the lost messages.

Also if you google "open dbx files" you will find the program described in the above paragraph, I think it was $27, and/or other similar programs. I didn't see any free.

Guess it depends on the relative value of the lost info.
