Aw, gee. Sending happy, healing thoughts to your son and a big hug for mom. I know what it's like to watch the docs your child off to surgery. My son had two surgeries before he was 3.

Good luck to your son and to you. I'm sure everything will be fine. My older son has broken more bones than Evel Knievel and has a an amazing collection of scars from accidents and surgeries. He's fine and I'm sure he'll be adding to his scar collection in the future.

My son had a similar experience in fourth grade. Broke his arm and needed surgery. He came through it well and I'm sure your son will too! I was nervous about the anesthesia too. He was pretty groggy even after coming out of recovery, but it was just a matter of time and everything was fine.

I just saw this, but I am adding to the positive healing energy being sent to your son. Hugs for mom too - it is so much harder to see your child injured than to be hurt yourself.

good wishes your way as well. I have had too many surgeries so am a little experienced. my kids had there tonsils out before age of 3- which is not usual these days. My point is the anesthesia they use today is so much safer and refined than it used to be even 10 years ago. So try to relax .

Shaun, praying that the surgery will be successful and your son will have a speedy, speedy recovery.

I agree, most of the time it's harder on the Mom, when they hurt, we hurt.

We're home now. Everything went very well and we follow up in 10 days at the Ortho's office.

Dr said he was happy with the way it all went today.

Huge relief that it's over with.

Tonight he will be dining on his favorite meal: pizza. Easy for me huh? Because it'll be take out. haha!

Barnmom you asked if there were any breathing problems, no, I was just nervous about them putting him out. But all went well.

Look at that handsome young man! Sorry I missed this yesterday. I'm glad he's doing so well. With his good looks that arm is going to be a chick magnet, don't you know.

My son broke his arm when he was 10 or 11 or so. He didn't need surgery, luckily, but the day he got his cast off, he did a handspring. You guessed it, back into the cast with his arm re-broken. So, tell him no handsprings when he gets the cast off.

Bobby, he is right handed so writing is going to be interesting for him. This happened in PE at school. Some other boy was running, tripped, flipped and either his head or his foot hit Anthony's arm. Ka-plowie!

And I didn't take the school insurance because we have insurance for Anthony. What I have found out now is that we have a $1500 ded that hasn't been met. Yikes.....

I'm glad I checked back on this thread to get a look at Mr. Dimples. Nice looking kid!

As for the $1500, well, just imagine what it would be without your insurance. I never used to take the school insurance either since we already had health insurance.

Hope he continues to heal well.

Shaun I totally missed this but am so glad to hear that he is recovering nicely. I think breaking a bone must be a right of passage for all boys! LOL
