Coming up on 10 years post cancer....going in for the yearly chcek.....and of course I haven't lost the 50 pounds he wanted me to lose last year...

OY!

Anyhow it's the search for bad things I find disconcerting.

I discovered Activia myself even tho I am lactose intolerant. I take the pills in morning by Equate(Wal Mart) that are about same as Lactaid, I had tried the other 1 can't remember what it is called but it didn't help at all. I was taking lot of meds for headaches & my stomach has always been touchy(like my dad's).I had taken a number of probiotics from health food stores but I think when it is in a pill it is probably dead as never helped. Activia got rid of my hurting stomach in about 2 weeks taking 2 a day. Easy as I liked most of the flavors. It was advertised for stomach problems back then & later changed to sound more like a laxative! Now I think they say it makes "you feel better" (somebody probably sued) I had looked up what could be wrong & it sounded like I was getting where my intestines couldn't handle food any more. As with anything some things work for some & other things for others. Otherwise 1 antibiotic would be all that was needed for everybody. Our 98 or so elements seem to be slightly different in each person making it where each person needs meds just for them. Mom got her 1st UTI from them putting in catheter & leaving it in too long, that really set her on bad course. About 80% of meds act against her so it is difficult when she has to change something. Hope she does better after getting pacemaker after dr. gets back from vacation. Jan

Kate, I have been in touch with numerous people and it does not matter about his age it is the fact hs pension is too high. They all state that they understand with the economy that prices are going up but there are people with less income that need more assistance and because they do not have insurance they give to them. I was not pleading for assistance from any of you guys. I just needed to cry on a shoulder as was overwhelmed with the latest news. I also just wantd to ask for more prayer as God has his way of taking care of us. I spoke with my podiatris this morning and he is writing a prescritption to have a Picc line and for the IV antibiotic. I will be able to administer the meds at home. He said since the wound had healed on my toe that unless the MRI showed evidence that he needs to go into the toe and clean out the bone I will not need surgery. He will be ordering another MRI of my bones from the waist down to see what is going on. God is taking care of us but he is teaching me that i need to place my trust in him and keep my eye on the sparrow instead of allowing satan to cause me to stress and fear. I do not have a lot of friends in the Orlando area as Lee and when I am able to work, Disney takes most of my time. Since I am not at work I do not have my normal avenue of friends to chat with. I feel a special kinship with fellow gardeners. and just needed a friend. I am sorry if I offended anyone as that was not my intention. Linda

I will definitely pray for her. I will now ask our Lady, the most Blessed Virgin Mary, to intervene to God on young Katie's behalf. I will also ask Pope John Paul II who should be a saint in the near future. Through his intervention, God has cured at least one person for sure (a nun who suffered from Parkinsons like John Paul II did, was cured from one day to the next in 2005, a few months after he had died). The Church continues to investigate many other possible miracles accredited to his intercession. So I shall pray for her cure but God forbid, if she is taken, she will be with God in heaven.

Thanks guys....he said those magic words..."I see no signs of cancer"...but cautioned that since I have once had breast cancer I am more at risk for other kinds of cancer than if I had not.
But things are looking good....almost 10 years!!!
Thanks for the prayers....you know I am a believer in the amazing energy of prayers, good thoughts and wishes.

I am knitting a pink prayer shawl to "celebrate"...I intended it to be given to someone I don't know who would be doing BC treatment....well I hadn't knit 5 rows when I heard of a member of our church who was diagnosed with breast Cancer this week...
And so I knit....

Wow Linda. Ten years already, eh? Time flies. My heart did a little flip flop when I saw this thread. I'm so glad you got the all clear from the doctor. Sending you some 'staying free and clear' energy. The pink shawl is a wonderful idea.

Geez, Linda...you gave me a start, too. VERY glad for your good news! Though I am a little disappointed to hear you don't get over being nervous.(Going for mammo/blood tests next week.)
