Just keep getting older and my body parts seem to need attention all the time, LOL not funny when it ouchies.

I will be having back surgery on March 19. It seems my lower disc is pressing on my nerve so the pain runs all the way down my hip to my toes. Am having it at the new extention Loma Linda Hospital in Murrieta. Close to home. Lots of pain and a long long wait for surgery. It started hurting in November around Thanksgivig when we were in S.Carolina visiting our daughter and family. AND IT GOT WORSE FROM THERE. Thanks for your great prayers, they always come through ever since the cancer. And my Healing Tree is still up and reminds me to pray for all my friends too; Thanks Again

Sorry to hear you have been having so much pain with your back. Hope that the surgery will get you up & around again & without any discomfort! Hugs & prayers for you, your family & the surgical team to all come through so you can enjoy life again. Jan

I'm sorry, Gellchom. You are so sweet to ask. I started a new thread "Update on Anna" since this one was getting quite lengthy. She got the results from the Pet scan on Wednesday of this week. It showed a spot on her spine that could possibly be the result of an old injury, which she doesn't remember having, but at any rate they are going to do an MRI on April 2nd. She will see the oncologist on April 17th and learn the results then. I'm hanging on to the thought that she fell down a complete flight of stairs at home a few years ago and hit the wall in front of her with her left foot. Tore her heel all to pieces and she has a brass plate and screws in it. She was off work for several weeks. Nothing was said about a back injury at the time, but????? I have not mentioned this to her. False hope is not a good thing, I'm afraid. Thanks again. jude

Mellisa is at home. The surgery went well. She was in a lot of pain and had a difficult time breathing. They did keep her on oxygen until, I think it was Saturday. They also left the drainage tube in until Saturday, and altogether (surgery and post op) about 1000 cc of fluid was drained. Lab was done and no infection or bacteria found. She was discharged yesterday, and her husband and two of the kids (teen age daughter and step daughter) made the trip home with her. Thank you so much for all the prayers and good wishes. They help more than anything! Next hurdle is to find out if this will be successful long term.

Her name is Haley, she is 8 years old. She,and her siblings were spending the summer with Grandma and Grandpa in Montana. She got an Ear infection the somehow progressed to bacterial meningitis. They had to fly her to a children's hospital in Salt Lake City. Last update from yesterday evening: They're worried about pressure in spine causing decreased abilit to move arms and legs. Fever is up. Chest X-ray being done to rule out pneumonia

It is troubling to be facing major challenges, happy2b...gw. I hope that you find the wisdom, courage and strength, possibly including looking at things from a somewhat different perspective, if such may be useful, that you need to come to the best possible resolution. Could not stand pain any longer and had my husbands surgeon perform the surgery on Feb 27; pain from hip and leg is gone, of course I have wound pain and when I do physical therapy it hurts; Thank You all for praying for me I can say I am feeling so much better.
