Picasa picture shrink

I downloaded some pictures to make an album on FB recently. The pictures were all taken the same time on the same camera. However, when I went to preview the album, three (out of 19 or 20) posted small. I looked for a similar question on 'help' on Picasa and in a question/answer (by their designated answer person) they said Picasa might have become corrupted and to uninstall (with directions) and install the new version. Well, I did that with no difference in the result; they're still small, so I deleted them but would like to include them in my album.

Also, I've long wondered why Picasa makes so many duplicates, triplicates or more. I can download a couple of pictures and when I open the Picasa site, those pictures and many others(??? they go by so fast, I don't know how many) pictures I already have get downloaded again. They don't make it easy to organize - right now they're by date - or to delete. I like Picasa, it seems pretty user friendly but I am frustrated with these two problems. Any ideas? Should I change....& to what????

Since you have wisely developed a communication channel with a person of knowledge in Picasa rather than members here guessing at an answer or innocently pointing you in the wrong direction, wouldn't it serve you better purpose if you shared your concerns with that individual?

Now, if that representative can't help please come back and we will put our heads together collectively and make an educated guess.

Damccoy - I was scanning other people's questions and it was similar. I don't have a "communication channel" with anyone at Picasa and I have had very good response from knowledgeable & very helpful people on this forum so that's why I asked the (2) questions here.

I like to post images so you can see them here in the message rather than providing an outside link to the picture at another website. Here's how I do it from Mediafire, another file hosting site. 1. Post the picture to your favorite permanent location on the Internet 2. Open the picture in a different window and adjust to the size I want 3. Right-click in the picture and select Copy Image Location Then in my GardenWeb message, I use the HTML code for viewing an image. It looks like this <img src="yourURLhere"> The quotes are important - they belong there no matter what. Inside the quotes you paste your URL location. It will probably end with the extension .jpg. Thus when I type the following code into my message <img src="http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/4038da7fd3132a018d9998f4f9185f1f4g.jpg"> I get the following picture of the borderline between a buffalo grass lawn on the right and a scrubby fescue lawn on the left.

Looks as if you figured it out for yourself, Glenda. You can check the little box before you copy the URL if you don't want the link to your album to show up in your post. I like the feature that you can choose a size. I resize my pics to smaller sizes anyhow, because there is a limit to how many photos you can store on all these hosting sites and it is measured by total bytes, not the number of pics uploaded. I keep posting pics on Photobucket as well. Both have some desirable features. Nell

Picasa isn't a destination... it doesn't store pictures. It just displays what it finds on your computer (i.e. in My Pictures, etc). So can you import them to your My pictures folder? Google the error----> AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO IMPORT. EITHER THE SOURCE IS UNAVAILABLE OR THE DESTINATION IS FULL OR READ ONLY.

I put pictures on a regular CD that are stored in My Documents and I can add additional pictures later. I just have to make sure the File names are different from what's already on the disk. If the file names are the same they will replace what's on there.

this site has the best resources and tutorials for Picasa I have seen you may find some answers here. Or you could try at a picasa dedicated forum. I do not use it so can not be of much assistance.

I understand, and that's fine.

I always recommend manufacturer's websites and dedicated forums as first tier research during the self-help process. Their FAQs and thread search history quite often resolve a user's concern. If needed a second tier research on Google often surprises users as to what they can learn and remediate on their own. Third tier is anything goes.

Not in this case, but too often users skip one and two, and go directly to three.
