Hotmail problem today!

I have a I yr old Gateway with W7 & Explorer 11. which have worked perfectly until today!
I can't get into my Hotmail no matter what I try. I rebooted 3 times. My DH has a computer in another room and he had no problem, so I tried logging into Hotmail from his computer and still won't allow me in. It hovers over 'waiting for Log in Live', then goes to "can't connect."
I am able to go everywhere else on line with no problem, just not into my Hotmail.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Try a different browser .

And/or - clear Internet Explorer (Tools - Delete Browsing History - make sure all the boxes are checked). Note in doing this, if you regularly visit websites that the browser keeps your passwords for, you'll need to log in again. Restart IE and try again.

Sometimes that happens. Not often. Usually DNS server with bad or old info. Slow to update.

. bunch of address's choices to load Hotmail
www.hotmail.com
www.live.com
www.outlook.com

might look in your recent activity for any odd things;
account.live.com

Things don't seem to show any sign of slowing down. People are still steaming about their accounts. Below is another link to a brief article on the issue. FWIW, I apologize for not naming this thread more accurately. I should have called it "Warning for Hotmail Users" or something so people don't think it's a post stating my own problem with the service. I just hope any Hotmail users here aren't experiencing any problems and can take proper steps to back things up before something does ! Here is a link that might be useful: Digital Journal Article

no problems here at all. Have her check that she has it typed correctly or send her a new email that you know has your correct addy on it for her to try to reply to. I had the same exact thing happening and my friend said absolutely she was putting in the correct addy because she was using it from her address book, I had her send me a copy of the returned one to my other email addy and sure enough there was a letter missing in my address LOL How that happened we do not know since she had been emailing me for years from her addy book.

I have used hotmail as my primary email since 97, I started out as an msn dial up customer and got the hotmail and msn email addies, I use the hotmail daily. I am now with Verizon fios which also has msn so I still have all my msn addies. I also have the msn browser which I love to use to view my hotmail. I have not tried the hotmail live since I like the one I have so well. My other fave is using gmail through mozilla thunderbird. Works super good and no ads at all plus all the good points of gmail and the ease of thunderbird and of course there are add ons for thunderbird just like for firefox. If you already have a gmail account I would say try downloading and setting up thunderbird to get your gmail and use it. The directions to do that are on the gmail site under the settings tab, using Pop and Imap, thunderbird's new version is supposed to be set up following the imap directions. It is very simple. You can then have your full address book and it will fetch all your mail for you. Here is a link that might be useful: thunderbird

Thanks everyone!

After it not working for 8 hours, I finally was able to get into my Hotmail-no idea why, but concluded it might have been Outlook/Microsoft!
