Hotmail problems?

hmmm...I have never had this happen before, or at least not that I can remember.

A friend is trying to email me and and said (once one email did come through...and she posted a message in a thread)...

My emails keep coming back to me. I have tried 5-6 times today to respond to your last message but it always says failed to deliver but it doesn't give a reason

She was able to email me just the day before. She has a Comcast email addy. It did not contain 'stuff' (pics, links, etc)

Might Hotmail be updating again/still? Any ideas? I have had no complaints from anyone else and receive in numerous emails each day.

no problems here at all.

Have her check that she has it typed correctly or send her a new email that you know has your correct addy on it for her to try to reply to.

I had the same exact thing happening and my friend said absolutely she was putting in the correct addy because she was using it from her address book, I had her send me a copy of the returned one to my other email addy and sure enough there was a letter missing in my address LOL How that happened we do not know since she had been emailing me for years from her addy book.

Thanks...I just sent her an email and asked that she use 'reply'. Hopefully I will get it, or she will post here, as I pointed her to this thread.

Thank you both. Yes, Breen, hopefully it is just a snaffu right now, due to their updating. On the email I sent to XXXX@ excite.com yesterday at 2:23PM I received 2 delay warnings and just now received a warning that it was a failure. Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server. Luckily the email is attached. Heck, I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday, let alone who all I emailed about what? Sheesh...wish they would get all their ducks in a row ans quick. The member @excite.com hasn't had problems that she is aware of anyway, receiving emails from other folks. Sorry to rant. Sue

I couldnt even open a hotmail page, let alone log in. After several days, it came back on it's own. I didnt do anything. Today ... I cant get on again. I get: "Login Error Windows Live Hotmail was not able to sign in to your account at this time. Please try again later." What's frustrating is that if the people on this site are aware that there is a problem ... why do the people at microsoft seem oblivious? There's nothing on their web site. During the day or so when I was able to get in, there was no e-mail from them alerting me to the problem and assuring me that it was being fixed. Nothing. Get the distinct impression that they dont care.

yep DA I have had to in the past do some back door entries LOL well I guess it just needed to hear me complain a little because finally it seems to be back and working, hope it lasts. With all the changes they are doing almost daily it will likely be hit and miss. I am not liking a lot of the changes and may end up forcing me to change my primary email to one of my other ones or at least have it fetch the hotmail for me and not have to deal with the actual hotmail interface. Had to use my gmail today and realized that at some point recently my entire address book disappeared, all that is now showing up is my hotmail addy and my husbands addy, no clue why gmail would have made any changes that would affect my address book. if you have an alternate email addy have her forward the returned email with full headers to your other addy so you can take a look at it and see if you can get any clues from the headers.
