I've had that for centuries it seems TIA To be honest with you I am unfamiliar with the software Bazooka but, I did look it up to see what program you were talking about. I have never used Bazooka and so I am unable to give you an opinion on it. Sorry. Maybe there is someone here that is more knowledgeable about the program that can give you an opinion on it. not to steal the thread thirdfrt Minnie, I don't feel like you stole the thread at all, unfortunately I was not able to answer your question and anyone who is knowledgeable about Bazooka is more than welcome to answer your question on this thread, I don't mind at all. For those of you who mentioned Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and Spyware Blaster, I have them on this OS. I have had Spyware Blaster for quite awhile now and I downloaded the other two last year. I am very pleased with these programs and appreciate the help that was given to me so that I could download them. I use to have AdAware when it was a good program and thought I would take the chance with the current AdAware and I have become very disappointed with it. You are right it is not the same and that is why I want to remove it. I have given my son the links for the programs that you have recomended and for the removal of AdAware. It just seemed odd that we were both experiencing the same problem with our firewalls and like I said that was the only thing that we had in common on our computers. My sister and Nephew both had problems and they uninstalled AdAware and their computers started working correctly. About Irfanview, I think I will remove the old one rather than write over it and start fresh. I don't need anymore conflicts. One last thing I downloaded Auslogics and was surprised how well it did. My computer was really starting to act up and at first I didn't think I was going to be able to run a check disk. I messed with it and finally got it to work and after I ran the check disk I used the Auslogics Disk Defrag and my computer came back to life so to speak. I've found irfanview to be annoying and clunky, and not easy to use at all. If you're happy with it, fine. Otherwise, take a look at Faststone or Picasa. I think both of these are more useful and offer a better user experience.

I wasn't in a hurry to get the next version (the changes usually have a minimal impact on my usage of the program), but since there seems to be so MUCH concern about CNET, I did get the file from CNET and did the install. After answering the standard questions about where and how to install, I was offered an install of Google Chrome. Since I did not want it, I had to UNCHECK the box. The install then continued with no problem. If you already have Google Chrome, you may or may not see this step...I don't know. If you already have Google Chrome and fail to UNCHECK the box, it could potentially wipe out your current install leaving you with no bookmarks and all the settings returned to the defaults. Again...I don't know and I'm not going to find out. Anyone still having a cow about using CNET can use the link on the Irfanview page to OTHER DOWNLOAD SITES. I would expect the experience at these other sites would be exactly the same but I could be wrong so if you use them, you're on your own. I won't be using them and will have no comment on them. If you decide to install the additional plugins, you MUST close Irfanview first. The install will stop until you close Irfanview. Additionally, I went to the CNET site using Firefox with NoScript. This cuts down on the funny business that a lot of malicious sites throw at users with vulnerable browsers, particularly Internet Explorer. So if you go there with IE, I don't know what your experience will be. I can only tell you what my experience was. That was it...no strain no pain. Hi jenn, I use Irfanview all the time for editing photos, and I do love it. I rarely ever use paint even though it comes with Windows... I am thinking of downloading Picassa as well because it does organize photos. I just got another stick of RAM (now I have 1 gig) so I think maybe I will have both on my 'puter.....(plus 3 versions of PSP, Animation Shop and Photoshop Elements....LOL... I am going to get another stick of memory this summer too!) I know I am not answering your question, but I did not want your post to go unnoticed!
