Meet/say hi to Allye Grace

I'm an Uncle again!

After a few bumps in the road the last couple of weeks and this past weekend Allye Grace was born into the world today via C-section. She is a few weeks early but healthy and doing fine as is Mom, my DS Debi.

Just an hour old here.

A little yawn after clean up and in Mom's arms. DS made us crop her out of the pic for public posting....LOL....here hair and makeup weren't perfect!

She is number fifteen for our family and holds the record for the smallest baby weighing in at 6lbs. 2oz., 17 inches in length. All of her cousins came in at 8.5 plus with Justin still holding the record at 10.8lbs. We are known for big babies in our family.

Off to try to catch up around here once again....life has been crazy busy here and it just won't stop. : )

She is an absolutely beautiful baby! And it's funny because you can't often tell, but she looks JUST like a baby girl. There is no way she would be mistaken for a baby boy. David, congratulations! Your new little family addition is precious. Lucky Uncle David!
Give her kisses and hugs and wish your DS well. Tell her I said she makes great babies.

Oh, I think I may have accosted the same guy and accused him of being Bobthewizard! He must have really wondered why people were calling him Bob? LOL. It sure would have been great to have met up with some of you! I looked for you Lynn! It was a great time watching everyone grabbing plants. I nearly stole a Queen Amber from some poor guy who was actually in line! He had so many plants around him I thought it was a display! LOL sorry to the guy in line:). Hum....I know who stole my Tesla Girl! Lnorigb...LOL. Great find I love that one! Queen Amber was really popular and I think gone 40 minutes into the open house! It is so much better in person, the photos I've seen just dont do it justice! Luckily, I snagged one! No, not from the guy in line:) So sorry to have missed y'all. But you know how it goes, the open house is like a feeding frenzy and once you get zeroed in on the plants the rest of the world fades away! I agree with lnorigb we need to get organized! :) Nicole

Trance, I like your style of gardening too. My DH is more atuned to trimmed hedges and mass regular plantings--straight lines of marigolds 6 inches apart was his choice. Me, I stuck seeds in the ground in irregular spots and let them go--a very wide reckless abandon bed of NASTURTIUMS. I never met a nasturtium I didn't like! I've been in love with them since I saw the way Monet used them at Giverny, where they looked like the meandering banks of a river. I can grow them up north for the first time in my life...down here it is too hot. My favorite bed is not really a bed, it is a strip of lawn where I stuck down banana trees, and elephant ears and palms...and aspedistra and bird of paradise and asparagus fern and chartreuse ornamental sweet potato...and miscanthus grass. Oh yes, and two clumping bamboo plants strategically placed to keep car headlights from intruding into the privacy of our sun porch. When all the massive plants get full in late summer, it is a jungle out there. It makes its own shade. I thought I'd lost them all after the cold winter we had, but they are looking good! Buddyrose, one of my favorite trips was to Mystic Seaport on the coast of CT. As a mariner, of course I knew about it, and it was my Mecca--kind of like going to Jerusalem on a pilgrimage. The pictures I took there are the ones hanging in our Mass. living room. What you did with the pebbles decreasing in size was another example of forced perspective. If you have help with your weeding, you are so fortunate. The grunt work is not very easy, but so necessary before your plants can shine. Do you all remember the Alka Seltzer commercial many years ago where the old lady was taking 2 tablets after being out all night "dancing with Reckless Abandon?" (and that was the name of the young man she danced with?) I've always adored that expression. And so it seems an appropriate term for the way I garden too....with RECKLESS ABANDON. Too much of a good thing is JUST RIGHT for me. :)

I have the whole dvd set and go through the whole thing a couple times a year. lol I absolutely love the show. I really hope I like the show too, because it is one of my favorites. When the show was on they made political jokes here and there and I was ok with that. Little jabs are no biggie, were funny and they didn't get in the way of the show. But with the way things are today I'm afraid it's going to be in my face in each episode. I always wanted Will and Grace to be together. I understand that wasn't possible because he was gay, but they were so perfect together. But they were also perfect together as best friends. And I do understand it was just a show lol A couple of years ago I was shopping at a thrift store in Austin. I heard a lady that kept singing. I'll admit I was kind of thinking who wants attention. lol She had bright red hair and had who I was assuming her daughter with her. She was at the front counter basically buying all the jewelry. I finally decided to take a good look and it was Megan Mullally. I wanted to go up to her so bad and say "Honey what is this? What's going on?" lol

I would like to apologize everyone, I have been struggling with Houzz's notifications or lack off for a while. I did not see I had new comments. Flowers Thank you very much. In regard to where do I find the time, i find myself not being a great house wife and spending every second of my weekends in the yard. Thankfully I have a very kind and understanding husband who is willing to support me in my craziness. Thank you kristine. Amazing Grace is lovely. i wish the plant was stronger, but I am pampering it and hoping for the best. If she does not shape up into a decent bush after a couple more years tho, I will give her spot to a better performing plant. Diane my parents and grandparents are doing well even tho Miami has definitely had a rough time with this virus going on. We are hoping they will be able to visit us some time before the end of the year. How is your spring going? I am thinking your roses should be getting very beautiful by now. Cant wait to see more of your garden. Sylvia Thank you. I really love the ruffles on princess Elise. Her color also does not seem to fade which I know is a quality a lot of people admire. If she didn't get black spot, she would be perfect. Totoro sorry for my delayed reply. Amazing Grace does not have good disease resistance so far. She was planted as a tiny band so maybe it will improve with time, but so far it needs regular spraying. Lily yesss it does look very similar. Here FR is a bit lighter pink and not as ruffled, but certainly in same color family. Flamenco rosita is also a superior plant when it comes to disease resistance. I am so glad I got her after seeing her in your garden. She is one of those super rare roses that are 100 percent black-spot free here. They would probably look great next to each-other.

Oh, David, she's just perfectly beautiful, with such a sweet little mouth. She's just about the size Makayla was when she was born, they seem so tiny and grow so quickly.

Congratulations to your DS Debi and all of your family. I had both my girls by C-Section and so tell Debi I sympathize!

Kiss that new baby for me too.

Thanks all y'all!!

Sherry, they all look the same to me too when they are first born but she sure does look like a little girl for sure. Linda, we have had lots of cone heads and squished noses over the years...LOL! Allye was our first c-section baby..big difference for sure. Annie, she is a little sore but manage to do payroll today on her laptop...the joys of beinging self employed. Sharon, I can't believe it's been over a year since y'all were here...we still talk about that night too. The car and your cool canadian accent!

Allye had a little challenge with eating at first but as of today she has joined her family with being a foodie and is taking her bottles with no challenges at all. Looks like they will be headed home tomorrow as it stands now.

I'm not even going to tell y'all how old I'll be when she graduates high school. Yikes! LOL!

Thanks again my friends!!

Just wanted to say thanks again to the last few posts. Another busy past weekend here. Allye had her first doc appointment yesterday and all is good. She gained the 4oz. back and couple of more that she lost after birth. She is a tiny little thing for sure compared to her cousins at the same age.
