Maggie, nine years ago I bought the totally untested Thermador Freedom Series Columns. I picked them over the SubZero because they were the first to lift the interior and get rid of the ventilation panel overhead -- something I really hated about the old built-ins, but it also meant the bottom drawer wasn't nearly on the ground and in the freezer the ice was at a convenient height (had two kids in marching band -- we went through at least 2-3 gallons of ice every day during marcing season. Nine trouble free years later, I have no hesitation recommending Thermador (which includes Bosch, Miele and Gaggenau). And I got one of the first ones -- before the bugs were worked out. SubZero is the other top name for full size built in refrigeration with KA being a not to distant 2nd (but chek the opening of the drawers - required a more than 90 deggree open door back then - don't know if it's better now). For undercounter, it's SubZero, Perlick and maybe Uline.

Sorry but the 2011 GE Monogram DF 36" with griddle is sadly part of the total GE Monogram total package we bought for our kitchen...grease fire because of grease draining under griddle accumulating by flames. Photos I sent to GE Monogram case worker Dawn said "the engineer said this amount of grease is normal and safe." Seriously?!? I'm not even going into the problem with too hot to touch wall oven door & second repair to refrigerated side of 48" side by side that ranges between 22-27 degrees thus freezing contents. GE repair tech said "too bad you bought 2011 & not 2012 because the newer ones are made in US not China like yours. " nice, huh?!?

I work for Monogram and can answer your question and point out some of the selling points for the ZET1. First, Electrolux does NOT make the ZET1 or any Monogram product. The ZET1 is made by Monogram. Here are some of the selling points for the Monogram ZET1. 1. The ZET1 comes with three racks on full extension glides. These racks are also self clean...meaning you can leave them in the oven during the self-clean mode. This is a Monogram exclusive feature. 2. The ZET1 has two light columns containing 3 halogen lights each to provide direct light to all levels. 3. Capacity is 4.4 cubic feet using the AHAM (Assoc. of Home Appliance Manufacturers) methodology for measuring oven capacity. This is one of the largest in the industry. 4. ZET1 has European convection with a reversing fan. The fan blade on the convection fan is specially engineered to reverse directions periodically to provide more even heat distribution throughout the oven cavity. An additional benefit is that you do not have to turn the food during cooking as is typically required with most convection ovens. 5. Preheat time to 350 degrees is approximately 8 1/2 minutes which is faster than any oven with a hidden bake element that I know of. 6. In addition to the appearance, many people like knobs because they are quite simple to use/program. You turn one knob to select cooking mode, the other to select the temperature and press start. I do not know much about the Electrolux oven. I'm sure it's a fine oven. I do know that the ZET1 is a very popular oven that is highly regarded in the industry. @Amy Cantu We've been in our house for 6 mo now and I really like the GE Monogram oven. I haven't actually used the speed oven functionality of the speed oven. Just the microwave. And even then, we just use the add 30 sec option. I need to sit down with the manual and experiment with it. Unfortunately, using the speed oven is not as simple as just turning it on. It's pretty complex. I remember when I tried the speed oven at my friend's house it was really hard, and I thought I'd need to dedicate some serious experimentation to getting it to work for me, and doubted that I would ever bother using it as an oven except for Thanksgiving, which hasn't happened yet. My motivation to learn how to use it has been even less than I expected, so I'm sorry to say I can't report back. I also haven't tried using the oven probe functionality for the oven (haven't cooked a roast yet). Need to find the oven probe along with the speed oven manual! But I have done a ton of baking and roasting of vegetables and have been pleased. We were living in a rental house with a viking range and the GE monogram oven is 1000x better than whatever model of viking oven came with the range in the rental. Much more even. I've done two cakes side by side and they came out beautifully without the need to rotate. With a sheet of cookies I notice that sometimes a corner might brown a little quicker than another corner, but not so much that I really need to worry about rotating the pan halfway through. Broiler also works great--I've been making a lot of toast to go with steak tartare and an entire pan filled with toast toast 100% evenly under the broiler--hooray!
