I considered both and decided on the Monogram because I didn't like that the Electrolux had a see through glass and that you can see the racks inside all the time. I didn't care much for the blue inside either.

was the digital panel vs. traditional knobs a consideration for either of you?

Also, so far as I can tell they basically have the same specs and features. Anything that distinguishes them?

The GE has slightly more capacity than the Electrolux (the oven interior of the GE is deeper?) and it also has an Automatic Meat Thermometer. The GE also has a "Proof" mode which the Electorlux may not have (not sure about that one though).

My GE ZET1 has knobs with the temperature on the small digital screen. So far, I really really like this oven. It counts up as it preheats so you can guess when it will be ready. It is super quiet, love the rolling shelves, everything has cooked very evenly, etc. And the fan is very quiet AND doesn't run on and on when you are finished baking. Looking forward to using the thermometer next week on the turkey! Haven't looked at the Electrolux so I can't compare. HTH

The knobs verses the digital panel, is like the blue in the ovens, it is personal taste. Both are run electronically so, which ever looks the best to you. I like both but my dh really loves the electrolux. I did take my cookie sheets and an empty frozen pizza box to the dealer to make sure everything fit. There was plenty of room. The dealer then made cookies and I loved the way the ovens looked with the light on, and the clear glass. So elextrolux it is and I am very happy with that decision. If I could just make up my mind on the flooring but

Looks like the GE has a proof mode and a meat probe that the Electrolux does not have. Otherwise, they seem nearly identical, although the Elx appears to have slightly higher power output in broil mode and substantially higher in bake mode. What that means, however, is beyond me. (although I assume more is preferable).

Remarkably, I prefer the simpler knobs. But in looking at hte manual it means that for anything other than basic selection (mode, temp) it requires rotating a small knob repeatedly to set (e.g.) time, cook time, etc.

If I remember correctly, when I was oven shopping I found the Electrolux ovens to be significantly shallower than the Monogram and F&P ovens I was also looking at. Bring your pans into the appliance store and make sure they'll all fit in the Electrolux.

It seems to me that one could replace one's cookie sheet collection for a tiny fraction of the cost of these ovens, if they didn't fit.

Now, if the frozen pizza doesn't fit, that's a problem. ;-)

I think I also noted that the Electrolux was shorter in height, but I'm only going by distant memory. When I did my looking, I was waffling between the F&P and the Monogram. The full-extension racks in the Monogram stay in during self-clean. It has more cooking modes. It was bigger. (Fitting the largest cookie sheets possible, and fitting multiple pans next to each other is a big issue for me, because we have a big family and ALWAYS use big or many pans.) These things knocked Electrolux off my list...Although, my very trusted appliance dealer said the Electrolux ovens did a great job with convection bake, and he was very impressed with their performance when he used one over a couple of days at a home show.

I work for Monogram and can answer your question and point out some of the selling points for the ZET1.

First, Electrolux does NOT make the ZET1 or any Monogram product. The ZET1 is made by Monogram.

Here are some of the selling points for the Monogram ZET1.

1. The ZET1 comes with three racks on full extension glides. These racks are also self clean...meaning you can leave them in the oven during the self-clean mode. This is a Monogram exclusive feature.

2. The ZET1 has two light columns containing 3 halogen lights each to provide direct light to all levels.

3. Capacity is 4.4 cubic feet using the AHAM (Assoc. of Home Appliance Manufacturers) methodology for measuring oven capacity. This is one of the largest in the industry.

4. ZET1 has European convection with a reversing fan. The fan blade on the convection fan is specially engineered to reverse directions periodically to provide more even heat distribution throughout the oven cavity. An additional benefit is that you do not have to turn the food during cooking as is typically required with most convection ovens.

5. Preheat time to 350 degrees is approximately 8 1/2 minutes which is faster than any oven with a hidden bake element that I know of.

6. In addition to the appearance, many people like knobs because they are quite simple to use/program. You turn one knob to select cooking mode, the other to select the temperature and press start.

I do not know much about the Electrolux oven. I'm sure it's a fine oven.

I do know that the ZET1 is a very popular oven that is highly regarded in the industry. I hope this has been helpful and you enjoy whichever oven you choose.

Since you work for Monogram, perhaps you can help me with this. I keep going back and forth between the web pages of the ZET1SMSS and ZET1PMSS trying to figure out the difference between the two. I figured I could cut to the chase and ask you! It's probably something so simple and obvious that I'm now going to be embarrassed...

remodelfla -- I'm n ot luster, but I think the difference is the handle and knob style. The "P" version is the pro version with bigger knobs and "pro" style handle. The "S" version has a smaller handle rod and trimmer knobs. I think the "S" is for "style", but who knows.

heimert is correct. The P stands for Professional and matches the appearance of the Pro ranges, Pro dishwasher, and Pro refrigerators.

The S and the P models are identical ovens in terms of functionality. You will also notice that the P model has an additional small window/digital display. That window shows the actual temperature in the oven. This same information is shown in a corner of the control screen on the S model. Same functionality different execution.

Does anybody know if the ZET1 is available in an all black version? I really love this oven but I'm doing a remodel and I don't have any other stainless steel anywhere else in the kitchen. I'm really in love with the full extension racks and I don't want to have to sacrifice that for the look of continuity. HELP!!!!!

Luster....any idea why the Trivection double oven (ZET3058SHSS) doesn't have the full-extension, self-clean racks? When I called CS, no one seemed to know why--wouldn't the Trivection be considered an "upgrade" to the convection ovens? It just seems strange that they don't have this...

I was also wondering why it doesn't have a meat/temperature probe in the bottom (convection) oven.
