Reality check: Master bath remodel

Help. I need a budgetary reality check.

We are re-doing a master bath (no tub, big shower, two sinks), and at the same time converting an unused bedroom into an upstairs laundry (adjacent to the master bath, sharing existing drain lines) and a large closet. There is some minor wall-moving involved (to incorporate closet space into bath) but nothing structural, some plumbing is moving around, but not the main stack). It's an old house, with the usual level of old house complications (more elaborate moldings, old pipes, etc.). No DIY...we're bidding it out to high-quality general contractors, and our selections are pretty high end (Grohe fixtures, Sonoma Star tile ($12/s.f.), semi-custom vanities).

I've been shocked by where the bids are coming in...well in excess of the $50-60K I had mentally budgeted for the project. Am/was I crazy to think this project could be done in the 50-60K range??
