ad block does not hide any of those buttons I have it on my pc and see all the buttons and links mentioned in gmail. it really doesn't matter since gmail gives you so much space doubt it fills up and they just give you more every so often. but I have never seen one that did not show those options as shown in the screen shot of select: All None Read etc. Mine is exactly like the screen shot. Only one I bother clearing out is the spam and it also has the link to clear all at once which is what I use.

mike kaiser, A hacker can start an https session to break into a gmail account just as easily as not. I don't think it provides any security against hackers, it just prevents interception (by using encryption) when the session is on a non-secure network. For people on a secure/home network, no effect. I'm not certain and the preceding could be wrong. It's a good practice anyhow to have nothing in your email account that you wouldn't want in the hands of someone with bad intentions. That way, there's no reason to have anxiety about unauthorized access. You change your password, or in more serious cases, you set up a new email address, and move on with your life. People get so dramatic and fearful about such things, an email break-in isn't like a home invasion by a gang of 5 lawless bikers.

I'm sorry, I'm not making myself clear. I'm wondering if I can highlight an image from a web page, copy it (right click/copy) and paste (right click/paste) an image into GMail the very same way I can do it in Thunderbird. I'm trying to avoid having to save the image to a directory and then retrieve it to post it in an email. Does that make sense? I may be asking for something that isn't supported in any way by Gmail. :) bob14, I might be misunderstanding GMail, but in my version there appears to be an alternative way to insert an image as long as I have enabled "insert image" in the labs (which I've done). According to the instructions I should be able to click on the "insert image" icon, click on "web address URL" and paste the URL of the image. The image should, then, show up in the email. That's what I'm not able to get to work correctly. Maybe the answer to my question is...no. Thank you both very much!

Usually they want you to add them to your contacts list otherwise it may be sent to junk and deleted.
