just added this week to GMail is the ability to add pictures inline in your email body as is available on most email clients, to find how to do this and other neat additions to your GMail check out this Official Gmail blog.

"RC", THANK you sooooo much for the https valuable info! My server switched to Gmail a month ago so I checked and saw they have the https with a padlock down at the bottom. My other personal Gmail accounts didn't so I followed your instructions and now have the https/padlock. THANKS!

I used a program called Jasc Paint Shop Pro (PSP7) There was a PSP8 & 9 before Coral took over with Coral Paint Shop Pro X. It lets you choose from a variety of arrows & Pointers to use.

Mine is still in classic so I can't try it. this was another option mentioned That I saw Go to my.yahoo.com ; in the Personal Assistant box click on Mail. If you don't have a box with mail you can choose options and select on to be Mail. Then hover over the Mail envelope and you'll see your emails. copy/paste image into Gmail?

I'm sorry, I'm not making myself clear. I'm wondering if I can highlight an image from a web page, copy it (right click/copy) and paste (right click/paste) an image into GMail the very same way I can do it in Thunderbird. I'm trying to avoid having to save the image to a directory and then retrieve it to post it in an email. Does that make sense? I may be asking for something that isn't supported in any way by Gmail. :) bob14, I might be misunderstanding GMail, but in my version there appears to be an alternative way to insert an image as long as I have enabled "insert image" in the labs (which I've done). According to the instructions I should be able to click on the "insert image" icon, click on "web address URL" and paste the URL of the image. The image should, then, show up in the email. That's what I'm not able to get to work correctly. Maybe the answer to my question is...no. Thank you both very much!

I have it -- and have enabled it -- in both my Gmail and Google Apps accounts, but for some reason the "insert picture" function doesn't work when trying to insert a .gif smiley I have in My Documents. I get a "failed" message. :-(

When I click on settings the page that opens has 9 tabs, General,accounts, labels, filters,forwarding Imap/POP,chat , webclips,labs and themes.

Clicking on the labs tab gave me a list of many new options to add.

I also like the new themes, I have mine looking like a beach

are you using the new version? look up at the top right corner does it say anything there about new version or older version, that is how you know which one you are using.
Mine has the option to switch to older version so I am using newer version.

well that is just strange! You might want to go to their forum and ask how to get those other tabs to appear. You don't even have the themes tab. Actually on that blog page I think you can comment down at the bottom you might comment there saying you do not have those tabs and want to know how to get them.

Well, it's not limited to those browsers mentioned above. I use Opera most of the time and my Gmail and my GA accounts both show Labs and Themes in that browser.
