just added this week to GMail is the ability to add pictures inline in your email body as is available on most email clients, to find how to do this and other neat additions to your GMail check out this Official Gmail blog.

New in Labs: Inserting images

I don't have it either..they'll get around to all of us soon.

I used a program called Jasc Paint Shop Pro (PSP7) There was a PSP8 & 9 before Coral took over with Coral Paint Shop Pro X. It lets you choose from a variety of arrows & Pointers to use.

Mine is still in classic so I can't try it. this was another option mentioned That I saw Go to my.yahoo.com ; in the Personal Assistant box click on Mail. If you don't have a box with mail you can choose options and select on to be Mail. Then hover over the Mail envelope and you'll see your emails. Hi, Ginny Some services (like Hotmail, Yahoo and Fastmail) have aliases, additional email addresses at which you can receive email but which are part of your main account. You can create these aliases for use specifically with certain recipients. One alias for shopping, newsletter sign-ups, etc. Another for message boards, twitter, youtube, etc. Another for business, etc. In fact, some people, knowing in advance that a certain service has aliases, will create an account with a username that they intend to use only for login purposes. They use only the aliases for actual sending/receiving of email. This helps keeps the account username secret and adds (a little) to the security of the account. For Gmail (the subject of this thread) the only place aliases can be used is with Google Apps (where they are called "nicknames"). But to use that you have to have your own domain. They're cheap, though: about $10/yr -- and Google Apps is free. But for regular Gmail account users, the only way to accomplish what you want is create a second (or third or fourth) account. Then, if you want to avoid always having to login and check both accounts, set up the second account to forward all incoming mail to your main account, and set up your main account to be able to send from the second Gmail account. Both of those are very easy to do. :-)

You can change that on Gmail it is very customizable. I hate the conversation mode so I turn it off in settings and it appears just like all my other email accounts. It is my secondary address my primary is Hotmail which I have had since I got on the Internet don't have much spam with either of them. Now the one I had to set up with Comcast, I never use, it will have thousands of junk emails in it once a year when I check it. Apparently someone else had the same address at some point or very similar and I get tons of stuff with their name. Comcast has no interest in figuring out what is going on. There are many very good tutorials for Gmail including the Gmail help. Once you customize it to your settings and liking it is not bad.

I have it -- and have enabled it -- in both my Gmail and Google Apps accounts, but for some reason the "insert picture" function doesn't work when trying to insert a .gif smiley I have in My Documents. I get a "failed" message. :-(

When I click on settings the page that opens has 9 tabs, General,accounts, labels, filters,forwarding Imap/POP,chat , webclips,labs and themes.

Clicking on the labs tab gave me a list of many new options to add.

I also like the new themes, I have mine looking like a beach

are you using the new version? look up at the top right corner does it say anything there about new version or older version, that is how you know which one you are using.
Mine has the option to switch to older version so I am using newer version.

well that is just strange! You might want to go to their forum and ask how to get those other tabs to appear. You don't even have the themes tab. Actually on that blog page I think you can comment down at the bottom you might comment there saying you do not have those tabs and want to know how to get them.

Well, it's not limited to those browsers mentioned above. I use Opera most of the time and my Gmail and my GA accounts both show Labs and Themes in that browser.
