To open a new window, I right-click on either a bookmark or a link and that gives me several choices (Open Link in New Tab, Open Link in New Window, etc.). If I choose New Tab, it goes to the web page and shows the address; if I choose New Window, it goes to the web page, but doesn't show the address...it just shows a little, blank rectangle, and the grayed-out words "Go to a web site." However, the behavior is similar regardless of whether I am on GardenWeb or not. Finally, since I first posted, I have discovered that, if I click on this little rectangle in the address bar of the new page, the browser stays on the page and the address then appears. Interestingly, although all of my Bookmarks transferred in the update, and work fine, many of them lost the unique little icon that often precedes the name and also just display the little rectangle.

I am not getting these follow-up posts emailed to me even though i checked to have emails sent - so I didn't know there was more. I hope they keep supporting version 3 - since we have 5 xp computers between home and work. I do have FF4 on dd's laptop - but not quite sure how it's going for her. She said she didn't like it - and I offered to try above suggestions to make it appear more like she's familiar with. She wants me to in theory - but in reality never wants to hand over the computer to have me do it. When I have more leisure to try again, am I recalling correctly that I can have 2 firefoxes installed - one version 3, and one version 4? And I can use xmarks to sync bookmarks, etc. That way I can get used to ff4 - but go back to 3 for the times I need things to go smoothly and not tinker? Any special instructions for doing 2 firefoxes? Thank you. Lynn. PS - still wonder if anyone else if having the issue where responses don't get emailed to them. I'm an anti-download/needless utility person. People download silly utility after utility, and then wonder why their PCs run slowly. A simple alternative, perhaps what you've vaguely described as what you did, goes like this: Click on Bookmarks, Show All bookmarks, Import and Export, and then Export. You get to choose a file name and folder where the backup info is put. If you keep backup files (which you should), copy the file to that location or device too. Do a bookmark export periodically if you frequently add new ones. To restore your bookmarks should you lose your Firefox bookmarks, click on the same things and then choose Import a file instead of the Export command that created it.

I'm always hesitant to download FF add-ons because I've had some cause browsing issues at certain websites. I'm curious about Stylish though, I've seen that you can change to some predetermined style that someone has created and I'm not interested in doing that with my page. All I want to do is change the font to something more pleasing to the eye and change the background color to tone it down a bit. Can I do that with Stylish? I've looked at a few videos and all I see is some format choices that I really don't want to use. Could someone tell me how to use Stylish to make my own choices of fonts and background colors?
