Anyone know the name of the music on DWTS last night?

I really liked the acousitic quitar and violin flamenco piece played last night on Dancing with the Stars during Derek and Chelsie's exhibition paso doble. Does anyone know what it was? If so, can you suggest a good recording of it?

I believe it probably was "Malaguena" - I didn;t see the show, but that is a very famous flamenco guitar piece. Here is a video of Sabicas playing it......

Thanks for all the updates and for the lovely poetry! Culture at GW? Who'd a-thunk? For me, we never got a freeze, and not a single leaf has dropped that I can tell. Everything looks as well as it did before the cold snap (which wasn't all that great anyway, due to my long neglect). And as for myself, as long as the plants don't freeze, I don't care how cold it gets. I love it. Never turned the fan off at night, and never turned the heat on, even once. I did have a nice fire going in the family room for three mornings running. That always makes me happy...snuggly & cozy for reading by, but not heating up the back rooms. I like to sleep in a cool or even cold room. Our fireplace is just enough to warm up the family room, library and kitchen, while the living room and bedrooms stay pretty cool. PERFECTION!! It's sunny and beautiful outside today, so Mark is laying brick. I, alas, have to continue cleaning out the guest room for my daughter's visit. (I had pretty much been using it as an oversized closet for a year! Couldn't even SEE the bed in there!) But tomorrow, I expect to be able to spend some time in the backyard. I wasn't too surprised about who went home last night. China was so beautiful and danced so well, except for Monday night. I can imagine the panic she must have felt when the routine of the dance just went out of her mind...on the dance floor. I thought she handled it and the criticism graciously. I just can't warm up to the gal who is dancing with Maxm (maybe I'm jealous.) LOL so I was kind of hoping she would be the one leaving. I don't see Nance staying around a lot longer. I'm thinking the final two will be Ricki and JR. But who knows. I just loved the "Footloose" routine. That got my old toes a-tapping.

I finally watched the show late last night...What a great show...there were 3 or 4 story lines going on and it was sure action packed...the older couple made me so sad and think of my parents...They were married 57 years until my mother died...My dad was devastated at the loss of his wife and only lived a year longer then her... I sure hope Dr Hahn doesn't try to take Izzy down before she exits the show (and a very good riddance I say!)

I binge watched a few seasons of TWD when my friend told me about the show. I was captivated from the first episode and now I'm a HUGE fan. The premier the other night was great. Can't wait for Sunday nights just to watch. I also like Fear the Walking Dead. That show can only get better, IMO. Interested to see where this season goes as well as the new characters in TWD. While watching, I was amazed at how many extras they had to transform into zombies. The director, while on the Talking Dead show, said it was over 1,000 people but like looked like a lot more than that. I am not generally a zombie fan, and, I agree the show isn't about the zombies but rather, the characters, which is probably why I enjoy it so much.

For a guitar version of Malaguena...look to Segovia...and Liberace played a mean piano version....I seem to think it was originally written for piano....

Interestingly enough, I tried to search Youtube for Segovia playing Malaguena and found nothing! And yes, it is beautiful played on the piano too.

I meant Carlos Montoya....I get confuesed with classical and flemenco guitarists! LOL!
and was originally written for piano...likely the purist Segovia didn't record it.

Oh, excellent! Thank you all. (And, yep, I thought "Wow, if Sharon could get it where she is, I bet she'd ID it immediately!) I know I've heard it before, but never knew the name. The addition of the violin really got to me. I am such a sucker for the combo of guitar and violin.

Oh dear, I see an Amazon order in my near future.

I would like to have seen Maks and maybe Cheryl or Ana -- older, curvier, more mature -- doing that piece. Chelsie looks so much like a sixteen year-old surfer girl that it just doesn't quite work.
