Word 2003 'corrupt tables'

I scan documents, using an Optical Scanning Program (OmniPage)and save them into Word as a document. Usually works well, but occasionally, I receive a error from Word that a table is corrupt. It directs that I should close the document and use the Open & Repair option to repair.

I can't find an Open & Repair option. Its not under File/Open. I don't see it anywhere?

Yorktowne Cabinet Review Corrupt Sales Practices?
Q

Is the previous poster kidding or a corporate schill "Quality of the cabinet and lack of issues". You can't possibly use the word quality and Yorktowne in the same sentence. This is the worst rated cabinet in the biz. Management could not "spiff" their way out of years of declining sales due to mismanagement. The Parent company Elkay pulled the plug and shut down two more Yorktowne factories in Virginia and PA due to ever declining sales caused by mismanagement and constant and unrelenting quality problems. Outsized spiffs could not compensate for an overpriced product riddled with years of nonstop quality issues. As far as spiffs go. Run if a sales person tries to sell you any Elkay cabinet (Lowes and Home Depot forbid this sort of retail graft and chicanery). It appears to those of us in the industy that Elkay management's go to market strategy is nothing short of bribe the retail salesperson. On the do not buy list: Medallion aka Spiffdallion, Design Craft aka Design Graft, and Yorktowne aka Bribetowne. How's that for educating the consumer!

I want to tell you...I'm setting here smiling :o) Thank you all for the wonderful help! Anne and Marie, I will, indeed, check out that site. But...I'm sort of OCD about knowing there must be a solution and wanting to find it. Thank you so much, Lindsey, that worked like a charm in the Word Program....just what I wanted for sure. I made calendars before (in 2004) and at that time, the grids were all shown on that calendar wizard...since that time, it has changed. I have a friend who makes calendars every year (I showed her how) and hers is still the same...but she never updates anything on her computer...even the Windows updates. But...who am I to fault her..she hasn't had any problems with her computer (and it is older than mine) and I've had to replace my hard drive and my monitor....she must be doing "something" right. Thank you all again...

How did you find Kitchen Table?

I moved to OKC in 1998, and was looking for plant info in 99. Then moved to Tahlequah in 2002 and joined. Looked in at the KT, but there was much bickering... and it took a bit before I joined. It was before paying was needed. Then, when it went to pay I changed my name to OklaMoni, and am here ever since. I met a lot of KT'ers over the years, and love it here. I also check the Oklahoma Gardening forum, and some times the cooking forum. Ever once in a while when I am bored I check other forums, but I am here every day. :) Moni

aww, thank you @designinteriorsouth, we like it here in southeast Tennessee, north of Chattanooga, we are on 47 acres facing east. My husband planted that Oak tree 23 years ago before we built this house. This is our sunrise view from the front porch, its hard for my husband to think about downsizing because we just aren't sure we are HOA people, lol. Hence, we re-did the kitchen and decided to sit tight for a few more years. And the summer sunrise that our grands love to wake up and discover And the horses right outside my kitchen window before the summer fog lifts

Thank you Owbist, you always find the best links. The problem I have is there is no 'open & repair' option on the 'open' button. It's just 'open' and when I click it, it brings up my documents. I think that option is missing from my Open button.

Jane, when you click to open a document in Word look at the very bottom of the pop up window where you select the doc you need. Then click the small down arrow beside "Files of type:" scroll down the list to "Recover text from any file (*.*)", highlight that and open you document.

Hope that helps you better

Thank you Owbist. I'll try it tomorrow. Everything seems so complicated with computers. I still miss typewriters! The only thing which got corrupted back then, was me....

LOL, glad it worked out Jane. Perhaps we can have a 'virtual' lunch one day. Actually I was in NY yesterday taking my daughter to Buffalo airport.

That's not NY! I'm near the City. Only Manhattan is NY in my mind. I was in Albany once (if that counts).

Thanks so much for all your 'patient' help.
