This is a stange and troublesome problem. I wouldn't want it to happen while passing someone on a two lane road, or crossing a busy intersection. I have no clue about this one, but I'll mention a problem from the past. One day, the Cadillac dealers in one area began to receive a rash of calls about the trunk lids popping open of their own accord. This problem was reported only in one area. By observation, it was attributed to military jet fighters on trainning flights flyovers. Apparently, their transmitters were keying the remote system on the autos. The military never admitted to any transmissions and would not disclose the frequencies and modulation they were using. GM fixed the problem by changing the operating frequency and key code pulses. Look around the next time the problem occurs: Are you passing under a power transmission line, near cell phone tower, etc. Is something keying the security system? Do you or anyone in the vehicle with you carry a spare key fob in their pocket, and if so, is there a possibility its panic button is getting inadvertently pressed? Lets us know when you solve it. I'm betting on some electrical/eletronic grelim.

Until proven otherwise, approach each failure as if they are occurring on different cars. The biggest mistake people make when attempting diagnostics is assuming things are related, they can be, but certainly don't have to be. So pick one, and troubleshoot it, then move onto another. If you happen to solve more than one with a particular repair, simply smile and move on. The headlights, tail-lights. They share a common power input to the headlight switch on most vehicles, but not all. Start with a schematic and check to see how the power distribution feeds power to the switch assembly. Question, do you have high beams when you pull the dimmer handle for "flash to pass"? No Bus. That means the serial data bust has shut down on the car. Unfortunately, that will be a failure that is likely beyond your ability to diagnose. You need the Chrysler DRBIII scan tool and its strength as the factory tool, plus a digital storage oscilloscope to diagnose that problem efficiently. The locks locking/unlocking by themselves could be a result of the failing data bus, or simply a bad door switch, with the previous being more likely at the moment. When the BCM sees serial data report that the vehicle is moving it locks the doors. Once it sees that the vehicle has been stopped and shifted to park, it unlocks the doors. The loss of serial data could cause this to occur incorrectly. The fact that it occurs after its been raining could indeed be a clue. We often find modules damaged by water intrusion on many different vehicles. Sometimes things like a windshield seal are to blame. One vehicle I can think of off hand has a TSB where the technician has to install a set of shields to protect a new computer from rainwater when its replaced. (Not a Chrysler vehicle that comes to mind, this is just a reference) You really do need a pro to sort this out. One that understands electronics, and has the correct equipment to communicate with your cars computers.

OOps. Yes it was Microsoft Office and I removed it. I also have automated updates checked and I've been getting and installing them--except for IE-7 which I have blocked, also thanks to instructions on this forum. Now the mssg. I'm getting is from Microsoft Internet Explorer: "Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed" when I tried their "contact us" link because I've registered twice (NBC.com) and when I click the link from their email confirmation I still can't log on. When you copy like that, and it ends up weird like you describe, it means you have unavoidably copied over some formatting/codes. I usually find it simplest to copy it, paste it into Word, and then just move my cursor around to the weird formatting locations and backspace to remove everything between a pair of separated words, and then reinsert a space. It's not too hard unless you have pages of text. Alternatively, you could try copying it into Notepad first, and then to Word, and see if that fixes the problem. Here is a description of how this works from a Wikipedia article: "Notepad accepts text from the Windows clipboard. When clipboard data with multiple formats is pasted into Notepad, the program will only accept text in the CF_TEXT format. This is useful for stripping embedded font type and style codes from formatted text, such as when copying text from a web page and pasting into an email message or other WYSIWYG text editor. The formatted text is temporarily pasted into Notepad, and then immediately copied again in stripped format to be pasted into the other program."
