Hey Jeanne...I can see where ...'my cupboard overflow-th' ! You got quite a nice haul.. Those herons are unusual and I can see them looking great either on your bookshelf or in a TS. You can always use candlesticks and the ones you found are great. Cute little tea cup - it does have lovely delicate pattern and 'Baby' will love her new watermelon tray...to cute! I really like those leaf glass votive candlesticks.I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the neat little metal hummingbird...a new birdhouse - nice! I see 'we' share a common collection - 'Oil Lamps'..If we were close enough, we'd compare collections...lol I've got one similar to yours..I love them and they DO come in handy when the power goes out. Lynn...I'm jealous!! I can't believe you got those cute Decos at such great prices.. That Halloween gift for your friend, is a Precious 'Must Have'. You're such a dear friend, to actually get what someone Really, Really Likes!! The little 'Cat Girl', looks like a Bethany Lowe. I just bought one from her collection other day. I too love the Vintage look. That Christmas Ornament is also unique and so different. Another great find. I think that candy corn is too cute. I am reviving this thread, as I am looking to replace/upgrade my everyday stoneware dishes. Was thinking I wanted to get plain white, but while shopping did find I was drawn to the colourful stoneware dishes... Part of the reason I wanted to replace my current set was the grey (Now I know from cutlery) marks all over the dishes. From reading this post, I cleaned them all off with BKF, magic eraser didn't work at all. Totally amazed at how new they all look, but many of the plates have chips under the rims, so am going to buy new. After doing research on the web for a few days, it is not 100% clear how to avoid those cutlery marks on dinnerware, various opinions blamed the SS count, ie whether is was 18/10, 18/8 etc. I have a feeling it is the stoneware that marks up the most. My porcelain and my good china dishes aren't marked. DH says it's because they're not used as much. He's right, they don't get much use, but I'm wondering if those of you who DO use porcelain or bone china daily still get grey marks. To make it even harder, just got an email today that Ikea is putting their Fargrik 6 place setting stoneware set on sale for $19.99! Maybe I just buy 2 sets of that for now, and wait to fall in love with some coloured/patterned set and buy when it's on sale. Still won't address the grey cutlery marks...

Love the tapestry idea! I searched for one a few years back, but could never find one that didn't look cheesy. (It seemed that all of the ones in my budget were the mass-produced sort that just looked like a Wal-Mart throw pillow stretched out!) It seems the *good* looking ones, aged, patinaed, and slightly worn are thousands. I'll have to renew that search. You're right Les, that everything looks smooth in the pic. In real life, though, without the flash washing things out, the wall is *heavily* textured in a sort of hand-troweled plaster look, and the chair is a tweed-type fabric. It almost looks like burlap. Or is the general appearance that seems smooth? Like it just needs more color/balance/texture in general? DH wants an oil painting. DH however would burst at the seams if I actually bought an oil painting. (I don't think he has any idea just how much they can run!) THottie, I never did a thing to the chairs in my den. They're in a room that is used mainly for kids; Wii playing, videos, plopping down after swimming, etc. They're so perfect as-is! Nothing can hurt them. The leather is such good shape, and it's impervious to the spilled Cokes, ground up Cheezits, and wet chlorine derrieres! Since I'm going to Charleston with my mom in a couple of weeks, I'll keep my eyes peeled for something that might work.

Very nice!

Once I get the hang of the new camera I'll take a picture on my cute dish thrift shop find. I went to a new thrift shop advertised as the "boutique of thrift shops". I didn't find anything that was overly impressive.

Thansk everyone! This particular Thrift Store is only a couple of miles form my house and I pass it on a regular basis, so it is wasy for me to pop in often. Also, we have been on a mad closet cleaning spree here so I've had lots to drop off - who can drop stuff without taking a peek! LOL!

Now I just need to decide if I am going back for the Steubenville Espresso set (8 cups/saucers in a cranberry with gold rim) for $4.00. They are beautiful, but we dont drink a lot of coffee in the evening and they are too small for breakfast.

Our thrift shop charges more than new, and throw in a few cracks and chips for free!
