Which browser are you using? Did you install the toolbar by itself, or did it come bundled with something else (like google earth, for example)? Did it ever work properly, or did it fail the first time you used it after installing it? In any event, I'd look in the ADD/REMOVE list to see if the toolbar is listed and if so-uninstall it. Also uninstall any program that you installed along with it. If the toolbar is not in the ADD/REMOVE list, you could try doing a system restore to a date prior to installing the toolbar. If you haven't already done so, search "google toolbar problems"-you may find an answer.

In my opinion-toolbars are a nuisance and a waste of time...but your mileage amy vary. You can always try a different toolbar if you must have one. If a different one should also fail, you may have a hardware problem or a conflict with another process running on your laptop.

I discourage the use of add on toolbars also they often are the cause of problems. I would definitely go to add remove and choose to remove it then go directly to google to download it again should you decide to have it.
since we do not know which browser, that is about all we can suggest.

genes-I didn't know that sending a page could be a problem......How do you copy and paste- I have looked it up, but somehow I must be skipping a step, because it does not work. This is what I do: I click central/c, highlight the whole page, click on the body of the letter, then click central/v. bpgreen-If sending a link is better, what happens when I want to send the whole page- pictures and text? How do you send a link? I use Yahoo mail, and there is supposed to be a place that says 'enrich text', but I don't see it. Any others think forwarding is not good? Thanks for the info.

Got on the internet only to find many had the same problem.
If I use the word GOOGLE in any search effort the computer
FREEZES and I am forced to reboot. It allows ONLY 1 search,and that is MSN BING. I have Vista and really regret buying it............between that and forcing you
to accept messenger live, I really feel BIG BROTHER is here.

so did you go to add remove programs and delete google toolbar and reinstall it?????

as to which search engine it uses by default that is changeable.

why not just get firefox browser and be done with it don't use the MS browser at all.
