Another one asking for prayers and positive energy

My grandson sent me a message asking for prayers for his friend. This is the young man who is attending Loyola in NOLA and arrived for his Freshmsn year 2 days before Katrina hit. He managed to get out of town with the help of very new friends, attended Creighton for a while before going back to Loyola.

Rough stuff when a college kid is attacked by thugs!! Prayers appreciated!

"my friend was attacked while he was walking off campus with a baseball bat to the head and they cracked his skull and fractured it as well. His brain is swelling and bleeding, it is too early to tell what kind of brain damage he will endure. He is in a coma in the hospital and starting facial reconstruction tonight. say a prayer for him and family. I have been friends with him since the couple days before hurricane katrina... "

Will be praying for the young man. Sad situation. The kid has had a few rough years.

Linda, it says alot when your grandson can email you and ask for prayers for a friend. He knows where grandmas heart is...:)

Thanks so much. I was mistaken, she just went to meet the surgeon the other day, he didn't do biopsy. Biopsy will be Tuesday. But he's sure it's cancer, on the bright side it looks to be encapsulated and he doesn't think lymph nodes are involved so may just do a lumpectomy. I'll keep you posted. She's taking it well - says dr is very cute. Just my luck - when I had to have 2 (noncancerous - 1 fibroid & 1 fatty right on top of each other) tumors removed from right side when I was 30, I had an old man. She's 60-something and gets a cute young surgeon LOL!

Feisty DM got tossed out of rehab and moved to skilled nursing. They said, she doesn't remember her precautions and says I will use any D... walker I want! They need some psychology lessons - you challenge someone like my DM and she will let you know what she thinks. In any case, I think the SNF is a better match for her right now and the food will be 10x better. The chef used to bring oysters on the half shell down to my dad when he was dying last year. It would perk him right up!

Six weeks ago, one of our local police officers was gunned down and died after arriving at the hospital. It was simply a routine traffic stop in the wee hours of the morning. We are a small town in Central Mass. 42-year old father of three and just an all-round wonderful person, so well-liked. The perpetrator was caught and killed in a face-off with police, local, city and federal. He was out on bail for former crime, with a long history of offenses. It devastated our town and the entire area. And "bringing him home" (from Boston's med.examiner) was the same phrase used, which definitely is heart-breaking, as was watching the police escort through town . I still cry.

OMG, Linda! I hate violence so much reading your post brought shivers. Why, or why do these things happen? No need to try an answer...
