Magic Erasers are wonderful for cleaning scuff marks etc off plastic things like your vacuum cleaner. Just don't rub too hard then give it a shine with something like Pledge. I buy the cheap ones at the dollar stores.

They will remove ink stains from the fabric of chairs and crayon marks from walls and the fridge too!! Sis and I can back that up. Ms. thang(Alleye) loves her crayons and pens!! LOL! I'll be attacking my shower door this weekend, Limeaway does wonders but not the whole deal.

I am interested in this thread because with the hard water I have at my house, I always have to battle soap scum, even with no soap, everything scums, even water left sitting! Now that my tub has been reglazed, no more scrubbing so I need to figure out what will remove it chemically, but not too harsh.

Love love love Magic Erasers. I tear off smaller pieces instead of using the whole size that is in the box.

Work great on cleaning off the bottom of frying pans or any pan, just make sure to rinse well.

Another Housecleaning Fool. I buy ME by the case, cut some of them in half, place them around the house and vehicles.

I was going to paint my laundry room but didn't need to after MEering the walls.

I guess I need to get some, Limeaway doesn't even take off the residue on my shower and tub due to the minerals in the water here.

Lpink, I put a filtered head on the guest room shower - Culligan makes it. It makes a big difference - that and staying away from bar soaps and other soap scum devils. I can feel the difference on my hair and scalp most of all.

I didn't know they make a generic for ME - I'll have to look for those next time. All my doors had to be taken down and then re-installed and they're molded doors so there's dust on all of them. The ME works great for those too - I finished a couple of them over the weekend and will tackle the rest soon.

I'm going room by room doing a deep Spring cleaning. No smelly chemicals here either. I will get sick. I already have fluid in the middle ear I've been trying to get rid of for months. Kicked up during the remodel of course. It's a lot better now - I got a big bottle of saline nasal spray. I think the paste wax has some petroleum product in it to keep it smooth. I'll see how it is.

Already made a mistake using Simple Green on surfaces. It leaves a hazy film. No good for countertops and floors. I'll bring it to work.

Fabric softener sheets work great on soap scum - it comes off very easily. Just wet the sheet and wipe. I know it sounds nutty! I doubt it matters what brand you use - I think I bought some generic ones...

I need to check out the Magic Eraser website, I have a few but don't understand why they are so wonderful!

I use them to take scuff marks off vacuum cleaners when I "adopt" one.... and they are good for soot from candles on painted walls.... Glad you found a good use for them and they are helping.... I've found no difference between the cheap store branded ones and the name brand ones.... I bought a huge variety pack the last time I was in Sams and have been working my way through it as needed... I thought about even taking it out to the car to clear up cloudy headlights, but I typically use metal or plastic polish for that....

My mom turned me onto the used dryer sheets - they work wonderfully on greasy stuff like over-the-stove exhaust vents, outside grill. I don't use dryer sheets in the laundry, but she bought me a box.

Well, I opened the pastewax container, and UGH! Strong petroleum smell. No way I'm polishing anything with that. Any other suggestions for brushed nickel faucet protection/water repellant?

I to am a fan of magic erasers. I just wished they didn't disintegrate so darn fast.

Sorry to hear that you are having ear issues. I have them too right now as do a few of my co-workers. What's up with that? I hope that yours resolves soon. Mucinex, prescription nose sprays and nasal lavage have been helpful to keep me reasonably healthy, despite working near kids.
I have a couple of questions--
Do ME's work on gold & silver jewelry or sterling pieces as Cathy's link suggests? I'd be pretty nervous trying a ME on something valuable which cannot be fixed with paint.

As for the Polished Nickel-- why do you need a water repellent? I have polished nickel hardware in my master bathroom-- two sets at the sinks, 2 sets of controls in the shower and on the tub deck. We don't use anything, simple maintenance is all. Honestly, we just wipe down the shower after each use. 6 years later they're all as good as new. My faucets are made by Rohl, but the towel bars etc are from Restoration. I've used Flitz polish for a couple of spots on the bars and it has worked perfectly. Give it a try.

Maybe I'm afraid of nothing regarding my faucets, LOL.

Update on the middle ear - I had this for over six months, went to one MD who gave me antibiotics, despite me insisting that I did not have an infection. No change. Went to a second MD who told me to try antihistamines. I tried and they helped but didn't get rid of the ailment. And I don't like to take stuff like that on a regular basis. Then finally went to an ENT who prescribed steroidal nasal spray and told me I needed to use it for three months.

Um, no. I don't think so but thanks anyway. Gak. Steroids have too many known side effects and rebound effects. Meanwhile I read that it takes a while to go away on its own. I've never tried any nasal sprays in my life, but in researching online I decided to try saline spray. I got it on Monday. After twice a day spraying with holding the saline solution in my sinuses with my head laid towards my affected ear, the plugged up ear is almost totally fixed! After all that frustration and useless medical establishment. I believe the swollen eustachian tube was a result of allergies, exacerbated by living in the middle of a remodel, which is also finished now. I cleaned most of the dust from every room. I have just one room full of boxes left to do, and I am doing it slowly to make sure I don't kick up and breathe the dust.

Spring allergens are in force right now also, so maybe your friends' allergies are kicking up too. I got Arm and Hammer saline nasal spray from Amazon.
