I have maple laminate flooring in rest of my cottage style, 100 year old house. All the ceilings have been replaced, as the floors. I added white beadboard in dining area corner, and new maple cabinents. My home is painted a happy lemon yellow with white 5" baseboards. I haven't figured out how to upload an image. Can anyone help?? Janet

I would go with with white but I guess it depends on the look you are going for. The bath I am currently remodeling has blue tile floor and I did beadboard 4 feet up the wall and chose a carera marble top for tub deck and vanity as well. Vanity cabinets are stark white, as is toilet and of course all the beadboard! But since your beadboard goes to the ceiling, well I don't know - that really is a lot of white as I sit here and type this! But I sill like the white! Sticking with my initial reaction. You can always put color in the floor rug or towels or a picture.....

The vaniy top will be flecked cream/tan/white and the sink will be white. I think I will go with a white vanity, but wonder if the top should be all white?? Fixtures are brushed nickle. I am so sick of making decisions, had the whole old house remodeled a couple years ago, and am tired of it. But the old bath was an ugly baby blue with blue shower lined, coming off and moldy !

I like your idea of the flecks on the vanity top. That is why I did my top in carera (spelling!) - I like the white look but wanted SOMETHING of interest in the white, I was afraid my bathroom was going to be too sterile so I opted for tiny veins of marble for visual interest in my vanity top.

Please post photo...I'm selfishly wanting to see your shower....I can also better tell what you're talking about..it's hard to visualize with photos!

scottmel, did you do all beadboard on the walls, or did you also paint. My DH informed me two days ago he wanted paint for all rooms in our house like yesterday. I also, have the carrara marble vanity top, all white vanity, sink, tub, toilet.(Guest bath) My floor is a med gray with just touches of blue. I guess you really don't notice it unless a blue swatch is next to it. I am going to paint my walls blue, but since there are no windows in the room, I am torn how dark of a blue to use. Any suggestions?

Yes I am definately painting. The beadboard is 4 feet up the wall but I have 12 foot ceilings in some parts of the bathroom. Bathroom isn't that BIG but it is high in some areas so paint for sure! I am not a blue person - though my ceramice tile floor IS ocean blue and I know that grey/blue would compliment the area but I am much more a tan person. My shower is done in earth tones with blue jewel accents to kind of tie in the blue floor but I really don't want blue to be the focal point of the room. I am so torn b/c I used BM Sierra Hills in my master bedroom and LOVE IT but when I swatched the wall in the bathroom with this shade it turns pinky beige. So this color is NOT right. What I am going to do is submit my photos to BM and have them select the shade for me. They did this with my bedroom and did a wonderful job - you tell them what you like etc - or what shades didn't work, etc. At one point there was a bathroom on this gallery that had dark navy walls and stark white beadboard. VERY pretty and for a guest room it would be perfect for me, I am not a blue person though for a master bathroom if that makes sense! I have a feeling I will lean towards light grey on the walls - will pull out the carerra and accent floor and definately my shower. But I am having BM pick the shade!!!

I happen to be heading to BM later today. I did not know they did this. Great idea. Our master bath again is all white, however, the tile is brown, cream, white, and taupish. I honestly am thinking of painting a cocoa brown color. DH thinks too dark but I have seen lots of beautiful brown bathrooms with all white fixtures. Thanks for your help.

I should have specified it is a service via the bm website. It USE to be free now they charge 10.00 however you get a 10.00 coupon for paint so a wash in my book....So they may direct you to the website whereas you can just upload your pictures...

Here's how.

Put your photo into photobucket or find a photo on the internet. Either way, you will have an http address for your photo.

Highlight this http address.

Then go to "Edit" and press "copy".

In the text of your post, type this:

Except there should be no space before the "img". (I had to put the space here so that it would appear here as readable text.)

After the equal sign, paste your http address.

Then, after the address, type a ">".

There should be no spaces in your command line EXCEPT between "img" and "src". (This stands for "image source" by the way.)

When you preview your message, your photo will appear.
