Windows 7 and XP SP3

If asked yesterday the relationship between W7 and XP SP3, I would have guessed none, zero, null...

Last night I loaded my Outlook 2002 (so back to the original program with no patches/fixes) and went to windows and asked for a scan for updates. It came back XP SP3. After getting over my shock (what 230+ MegBytes?) I concluded that was how MS gets an old factory version of anything in Office that hasn't seen patches/fixes to at least XP SP3, up to the SP3 level. If anything newer was applied, I missed seeing it.

My assumption is SP3 will selectively treat Outlook 2002, I do not have any other Office programs on the machine at the minute, and leave W7 alone. That said, and large HDD not withstanding, I hope most of the SP3 download is erased when the update of Outlook is complete.
