Silverkelt I like your way of thinking!! Despite the fact that I always say "I'm doing less this year" more seeds seem to gladly roll into that mailbox at this time of year. I am definietly not finished. Northerner, I know what you mean about this weather. We've hit record highs in the last few days and there's already a ban on open fires in the Halifax area. PV, I always say that good friends always remember small and important things. :O) She's growing up right now and as a teenager her priorities are friends, movies, shopping, and such. Despite that, she had a smile on her face when I told her I sowed her Bachelor Buttons this year. That in itself put a smile in my heart. Brandy, Yay indeedy!! Congrats on your sprouts too!!

I love your national anthem, although I wouldn't even want to try singing it! Actually you have 2 of them, I've heard 2 different versions and they are both beautiful. I received an email forwarded, written by Brian Williams, the NBC anchor who was thanking the Canadians. It was very good! It's nice that all the hard work that went into it was recognized, and *almost* everything went off without a hitch. People were genuinely friendly to one another and it was remarked again today on tv how patriotic everyone was. Bursting into song at any opportunity. FYI Vancouver is in withdrawal.....people miss the festivities, and depression is setting in!!!

Eh? Oh, yes, I/we had a great time, thank you Deb! We played 12 rounds of (96 games) euchre and for me the cards were brutal....I won the consolation prize for the ladies :(. We all sang a great anthem though!!! Lol

@mamapinky0, hmorton, and others- Sending out a big thank you for your support!(((hugs))). I did see the original post this morning and must admit, I was a little surprised. However, I've learned unfortunately, there will always be those people who feel entitled to openly judge others, for whatever reason, when they chose to live their lives differently than what the perceiver deems socially acceptable. Even though this person knows little about me or my family, other than what I posted in this intro post. I love it here in the Laundry Room. I started visiting because I have a genuine interest in washing machines (both new and old), detergents and other laundry additives, and fabric care. Also hoping I'll learn a thing or two from the real experts. Yes, we do a lot of laundry in our house. That's all the more reason to make sure it's done right the first time ;) I'll stay here because of all the wonderful, genuinely friendly and caring members I've had a chance to "meet" and chat with so far. I love you already :)
