Did you take of the little piece of plastic that prevents the ink from coming out?

yes i did...

Have you tried the ordinary printer maintenance -- cleaning the heads? Another suggestion: remove the cartridge, dab the ink opening on a clean tissue or paper towel to see if the ink flows okay. Next, most cartridges have a printed circuit on them. If the HP cartridge has one, examine it to see if it looks okay. If not, use a -clean- pencil eraser and remove any smudges, but carefully. Last: (I'm not familiar with the printer) if the cartridges are identical except for color, try exchanging with a different color.

daylilydayzed was talking about the air vent on top.
If it's not undercovered the ink won't come out. If the vent is to large it will pour out, don't poke at it.
It would be better to take it back to the store if
that's possible.

HP cartridges are all colors in one cartridge except for the black. Not sure how to clean the head but i did try another new colored cartridge and the blue doesn't come out of that one either so it must be plugged only where the blue comes out.Hope I don't have to buy a new printer, it's only one year old.

If everything fails to fix the problem try uninstalling and
reinstall.

Did you use the clean and fix in services?
Go to control panel - Open your printer Icon -
Right click your printer - click Printing Preferences -
Services Tab - Service this Device - Click A for clean the
Print Cartridges.
You can click - Align the print cartridges and follow the
directions. You will need to click print page to put in the scanner for your psc to make rhe right adjustments.
This is like going through the process when you first bought your 3 in 1. Printer, scanner and copier.
I have a HP 1350 3 in 1, maybe the directions I gave won't
be to different.

You probably need to clean the contacts inside the printer. Unplug the printer without turning it off (this is to prevent the cartridges going to the idle position). Now remove the cartridge being careful to not touch the copper contacts with your skin. You will need a stack of paper towels or something to place the cartridge on to avoid staining anything with the ink. To clean the contacts, use either q-tips or a bit of coffee filter and some distilled water. You will need to scrub at the copper contacts inside the cartridge area with a slightly dampened q-tip or coffee filter, being careful to not drip water inside the printer or touch any of the contacts with your skin (don't want to spread oils around). Wait 5-10 minutes before reinstalling the cartridge, then plug her in. Just an FYI...HP does support their cartridges even if the printer is out of warranty and would probably walk you through the same steps before replacing the cartridge again.
