Why not have something that is spectacular when it blooms like an Epiphyllum oxypetallum? It isn't usually grown from seed, but cuttings, you have to let the stem almost dry before planting it or it will rot, and it takes about 3 years from cutting to bloom, it blooms one night and then it's gone. In the Orient they have all night parties when it's time for this cactus to bloom. It's worth waiting up for. I'd like to see a movie about an E. oxy :)

forhgtv, it is too bad. What is really funny is that I don't see anything else on the Macy's website that even comes as close to being as expensive as the one I want. How does that happen? The problem is that true white and grey bedding that is romantic, but not too frilly, is not that easy to locate for a reasonable price. Who knew? I live quite a distance (3.5 hours) from real shopping so I do a lot of shopping online. Something like bedding is difficult to buy online. franksmom, you would think that home decor companies would figure these things out and help wives out a little bit, wouldn't you? But then you would think that department stores that sell bathing suits to women would put in some lighting in those dressing rooms that wouldn't make us want to vomit upon seeing our visage in their bathing suits.

FYI for movie food fans: Delightful 1985 Japanese food movie ‘Tampopo’ is back in theaters SF Chronicle, November 15, 2016 “Tampopo”: Imagine a foodie movie structured like a spaghetti Western. That is the delightful approach of Juzo Itami’s classic 1985 film “Tampopo,” about a mysterious drifter, complete with Man With No Name cowboy hat, who wanders into the life of a widowed mother and assembles a team — a sort of magnificent seven — to transform her flailing ramen shop into something special. The movie delighted American audiences in 1987 and created a wave of quirky, lovable Japanese comedies in international theaters over the next decade, from Itami’s “A Taxing Woman” to Masayuki Suo’s “Shall We Dance?” Approaching its 30th anniversary in U.S. theaters, Janus Films has restored the film for rerelease. The drifter is Goro (Tsutomu Yamazaki), a truck driver who seems to know every two-bit ramen place in Japan. Riding shotgun is his loyal partner and fellow foodie Gun (a super-young Ken Watanabe, a quarter of a century before embarking on an American film career in such films as “Inception”). The widow, Tampopo (Nobuko Miyamoto, Itami’s real-life wife at the time), has assumed the family business after her husband’s death, and struggles to maintain the business and find time to raise her young son. Goro sees the potential in Tampopo (the Japanese word for dandelion) and decides to help her. He recruits an aging ramen master, a noodle expert, a contractor well-versed in interior design and others while putting Tampopo through a ramen-making boot camp. Part of the charm of “Tampopo” is Itami’s use of completely unrelated sidebars devoted not only to love of food, but also love of movies. Most notably, Koji Yakusho has a few scenes as a mysterious man in a white suit who incorporates food as part of his erotic passions with his lover (Fukumi Kuroda). “Tampopo” is an utter delight, but you also find a lot about how to make good ramen (a special screening took place during last weekend’s San Francisco Ramen Tasting Competition).

Don't miss the new Lincoln Lawyer production on Prime, I thought it was excellent. Like the Bosch series on Netflix, Connelly is an Executive producer and has the same hands-on involvement. I thought the casting was particularly good - the man who plays Mickey Haller (the protagonist) is perfect for the role, as are the two women who play his ex-wifes- one who is the manager of his legal practice and the other who's an LA District attorney (Maggie McPherson, nicknamed McFierce) with whom he shares joint custody of their daughter. For those who don't know the Lincoln Lawyer books nor the Prime production, just as with the Bosch books, one of the stars of the stories who doesn't receive specific mention in the running credits is the city of Los Angeles. Both the good and the ugly, which most cities have. For arcy and others who expect a film to be a first page to last page production of the book it's based on, you should know that Connelly supervised a number of significant plot changes to the written form of Brass Verdict, his own book, to transform it to becoming a more suitable streaming video production. The original Bosch series on Netflix (edit for correction, Amazon Prime) ran for 7 seasons and was highly successful. A spin off called Bosch:Legacy has had its first season - it's a subset of the original show with the characters of Bosch (Titus Welliver), daughter Maddie (Maddison Lintz) and lawyer Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers) played by the same actors. Both Bosch:Legacy and The Lincoln Lawyer were renewed for second seasons, which presumably are now in some stage of production and to be presented next spring.
