Very interested in the response. I am considering too the Electrolux Oven/Speed Oven combo in the ICON Professional line. Haven't seen one in person but looks great in the brochure and on the website. The Icon Designer line has a broil element according to the website, which is one thing that set the Miele one apart, but they don't have pictures of the inside of the Icon Pro - assuming they are the same but not sure?

The electrolux ovens get great reviews here and other places and the appliance guy (who has been very honest with me about all the failings and benefits of various lines, regardless of price) said they sell several a month (independent shop in a small town) and he can't remember the last time they were called for service on one (not sure if they ever have been he said), unlike some others. He has been very impressed and said they were a great product with a good service track record based on his experience with them. They also sell Wolf, Viking, Jennair, Subzero, and other lines as well.

I'm considering the Icon Speed Oven along with a Single Wall oven as a combo. They are gorgeous in person. The Icon Wall Oven has oven racks that are simply fabulous, the glide mechanism is wonderful. It is beautifully lit -- I LOVE it.

The Icon Professional and the Icon Designer Speed Ovens are identical ovens, except for the exterior styling. I was leaning towards the Designer, but Hubby liked the Professional (which for some reason seems to run $100 more). The one thing I did notice, is the "window" on the Professional style, was not as wide as the Professional style oven, which, IMO they should be. Recently though, I've seen pics of the Icon Pro Speed Oven on a couple sites (AJ Madison for one) showing the Speed Oven window wider, made to match the size of the wall oven window. THAT photo however I'm not finding at the Icon website so I don't know if the style has changed for the better, or if it is a rouge photo.

THEN...I saw the GE Monogram Advantium and it's been impossible not to long for the 16" turntable which is MUCH larger than the interior of the Icons. There are photos out there of the interior of the Advantium. My problem is that I don't like their wall oven as well, the glides seemed rough after handling the Icon, and I do not like the knobs on the Advantium.

We have had the Elux Icon Speed oven for over 4 years now.
It is our most used appliance, we use it for about everything, baking taters, doing toast, roasting turkey legs and even boiling water when our fancy cooktop, (not Electrolux)bit the dust in less than 2 years.

It and the Miele compare favorably when "Speed Cooking" (Baking 2 potatoes)--((See the great potato race to see both "In Action")).

The Miele does have the advantage of being able to broil as it has a top burner(The Elux does too but it is under a slotted cover) so not good for broiling. We do all that sorta thing outside but we could use our regular Icon Oven/convection oven should we need to broil inside.

The Elux has the advantage in that it defaults to "Microwave" so to "Nuke" something, just enter the time and hit start. The Elux is also a bit more "Intuitive" and "Automated" than is the Miele----It has a "Potato" choice and even asks, "How many potatoes", then it "Automatically" sets the pre heat time, the baking time, The temperature and how much "Nuking" to do.
These parameters have to be "first thought up as to what is best--- with the miele and then entered--one by one---ie
preheat, bake time, Nuke Time etc--course once ya get usta doing that, No "Biggie" as you will see from Mojavean's video.

I'm in the process of ordering the E'lux Icon Designer Speed oven (E30SO75ESS) right now and the E'lux Icon 30" wall oven (E30EW75GSS) along with other E'lux appl.

My salesman told me we should hold off until Sept as there will be a 10% rebate starting then.
Also, he has located all my appl. except for the wall oven which is back ordered from the factory. Since I won't be ready for delivery until about Nov 1, I think everything will be alright... Hope this helps.

The Icon Designer Speed Oven now appears to show an open broil element (and the description also says it broils). I can't seem to find the picture I saw of it though! I'll have to check it out in person.

I am planning on looking at the GE Monogram but didn't like the exterior or the interior styling of the oven as well as the Electrolux. I loved the Electrolux oven in person and am going to hunt down the GE Monogram to compare.

I heard also that this speed oven is made by Sharp? Any truth to that? It looks virtually identical to the Viking one . . . which may also be made by Sharp (I know their microwave drawer is).

Thanks for the update on the new Elux Speed oven, athensmomof3. As I mentioned, we haven't missed the broil feature, but i'm sure others, like Mojavean, would. I have seen several posts here that state the Elux ovens are made in Canada and by Electrolux, I'm not positive about their speed oven thou-sooooo, I checked the tags on both the speed oven and my regular Elux Icon oven.
The speed oven says Made in the USA, The regular oven does "Indeed say" Made in Canada, both in English and it French---so it musta been made in Quebec?

As I have mentioned in "Numerous Post" We are very pleased with both of them, how they bake, How cool the doors stay, and the easy to see and use "Wavetouch Controls"

Both have been trouble free, except for a screw coming loose on the handle of the speed oven, which took less than 15 minutes to fix + lock washers were added to prevent a "Repeat Performance" of Same.

Gary - honestly the broiler makes no difference to me except I swear I saw it somewhere and that is driving me nuts! I can count on one hand, and maybe on one finger, the times I have turned on the broiler in my current oven (we have lived here for 10 years) . . .

Check the AJMadison site---they are usually ahead of the manufacturer, as far as posting info about "New Models".

Gary -- Canada is officially bilingual, so everything here has to be labelled in both English and French, regardless of where it's manufactured and/or sold.

I live about as far away from Quebec as one can in Canada, but I still picked-up some French when I was very young just from reading all the bilingual ingredients and directions on packaging. :)

Thanks for that info bishop8. I usta be in Canada , A lot, before I retired from my business, Vancouver BC, Alberta and various parts of Toronto----strange I had never run into any French in those places, but maybe my customers knew I didn't speak French and therefore they never spoke it?. I really do miss Canada, Particularly West Vancouver and Toronto---I got to see "The Falls" from the Canadian Side!!

Can be a beautiful place. True, we don't speak French much out in these parts unless forced (especially in Alberta), and mine isn't very good. In fact I was once chastised by a Parisian for bastardizing her language. :)

Back on topic, the one thing I read about these combo units that made sense to me was that you're maybe better off getting two separate units stacked. If one malfunctions, you at least have an alternate cooking option. With a combo unit, if the control panel goes out you're toast (and not the edible kind).

Just a note, in case anyone is considering the Elux Icon "Professional" style High Speed Oven because of its styling.

The AJ Madison site, as well as a couple of other appliance sellers online have photos of the Icon high speed oven which DO NOT represent the actual oven. Their photos make the design look substantially better IMO.

The actual oven has the door window considerably narrower than the controls window or the handle. The mysteriously revised photo shows the oven door window equal in width.

We've called Elux today, and one of the online dealers, and no one can explain the two different photos. All the photos indicate the same Model number. The dealer says it's a generic photo given to them by Elux. And Elux says they have no idea what the photo is.

Here's a link to Google Images for Icon Pro High Speed oven which will pull up many examples showing the window both narrow and wide. The NARROWER window is the real thing according to Elux. Too bad, because it does not match the width of the single wall oven. We were hoping that the wider window is a new revised version coming up, but Elux denies it.

The little window does bug me - doesn't look as nice as the big one for sure! However, the Viking one looks exactly the same, which makes me think they are made by the same person, i.e., Sharp.

I am a stickler for looks, but think I could deal with that as the rest of the styling is so much better than many others, including the g.e. monogram . . .

Elux Icon is also available in the Designer style, which is the same oven other than exterior styling, and it doesn't have the same window issue. I love it's design, but hubby likes the Pro....

I prefer the styling of the pro too - the designer glass is too dark for my white kitchen I think . . . or there is too much of it, or something!

I'd be buying the Pro set IF that darned window were changing... Gee by the time we actually make a final decision there will probably be new styles! (:
