To open a new window, I right-click on either a bookmark or a link and that gives me several choices (Open Link in New Tab, Open Link in New Window, etc.). If I choose New Tab, it goes to the web page and shows the address; if I choose New Window, it goes to the web page, but doesn't show the address...it just shows a little, blank rectangle, and the grayed-out words "Go to a web site." However, the behavior is similar regardless of whether I am on GardenWeb or not. Finally, since I first posted, I have discovered that, if I click on this little rectangle in the address bar of the new page, the browser stays on the page and the address then appears. Interestingly, although all of my Bookmarks transferred in the update, and work fine, many of them lost the unique little icon that often precedes the name and also just display the little rectangle.

I lost 'spell check' years ago on Firefox. I could not get it back and it disappeared on all my computers (XP and Win 7). Never could find the solution and tried the various fixes FF offers. Just wondering if anyone gets 'spell-check' on FF anymore? Lynn, sorry to jump in on your post but glad to know you found a fix. Jane

Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology--is a cache the same thing? I'm trying to get rid of files that have been stored without my knowledge and that are for "cookie" purposes. I did this once before with instructions on a different forum to clear up some space, but have since lost the directions. The computer forum has a page entitled: "Cache Clean-Up and Cache Size" and this is what I was trying to follow.

I am having trouble with them also. It is a different problem, a problem none the less. My WOT and no squint will not work. If I use the no squint to color the background or change the font size on my pages the google search box in the center of the Mozilla Firefox Start page disappears. I was downloading 2 things when it disappeared right before my eyes. Windows defender update and an windows update. This has happened on both of my computers and it really has me stuck.
