E-Mail Program

I know that I must be the last person on the planet who is using an early version (4.7) of Netscape for e-mail (I browse with Firefox). I use it because I can completely clean up any e-mails I forward on using the Message-Forward as-Quoted option. I tried Thunderbird once, and later versions of Netscape, but either I never figured it out, or there wasn't a way to completely clean up and edit any forwards. Netscape is finally becoming really unstable and I want to change, but don't want to give up that capability. Does anyone either know of any e-mail program that will completely clean forwards, or can anyone explain to me how to do it with Thunderbird?

I use Outlook Express and have always cleaned up my forwards with a little program called eCleaner. I'm sure it would work with most any e-mail client.

I use Thunderbird and I forward things to people that asked me to. If you mean cleaning up the forwarding email, just copy and paste into a new message form. I empty my Sent folder once a week and that takes care of it.

Tiny print in received e-mails

Thanks, owbist. Funny thing, but the one person who sends e-mails with the smallest print I've ever seen, uses a Mac and he is a couple of years older than I am. 8-). I have complained to him about this, and one time he did use a slightly larger font setting. I'm wondering if he just doesn't know how to set his font size larger. Not being a Mac user, I don't think I can tell him, either, since I don't know his mail program.

I usually do as daylilydayzed said, just copy and paste into a new email so that way no need to deal with any peoples email addresses being in the email, I use BCC for everything and never leave any addresses viewable.

If I do a simple forward I just go into the email and hilight and delete any items or words I don't want included.

there are various little programs you can get that will strip the emails for you and there are online versions that you copy and paste the body of the email into their little box and it will clean it for you. You can google email strippers and email cleaners. Scan any program you get prior to installing.

I was a Netscape user also and was forced to change due to new features being added to web sites that was no longer supported by Netscape. I now use Thunderbird version 2.0.0.19 and I am able to clean forwarded messages, sometimes with difficulty. I have no problem with deleting plain text, but sometimes have trouble with text within a 'frame' or graphic images. My work-around for this is to move to the bottom of the frame and begin deleting from the bottom, or right-click on it and delete the whole frame. Usually, I can start a selection from the bottom and delete that portion. If the 'text' is really an image, the entire image has to be deleted.

If all else fails, as mentioned by a poster above, you can select, copy, and then paste into a new email window.

By the way, I was able to import all my old email messages into Thunderbird (from Netscape), as well as my address book. Thunderbird appears a little different to Netscape, but most of all the features are there.
