Tiny print in received e-mails

I use OE6 as my desktop e-mail program. Occasionally I receive e-mails in which the font is so small that I have difficulty reading them. Using the Ctrl + or Ctrl and the wheel on my mouse does nothing as it does with web pages. I replied to one sender and asked him to use a larger font in his e-mails, and the next one I received was better. Is this all on the end of the sender, or is there anything I can use on my end in these situations?

I already have the font size set to "largest" in the Read portion of Tools. However, I went to an e-mail with quite small print and used the second method, View and then "largest" and it did enlarge it enough to comfortably read. So thanks for the information, and I'll use that method when I next get a microscopic e-mail.

There is unlimited things you could offer for sale. Keep in mind the marketplace swings so what you start out growing may not be what you end up selling - or - the way you see things today may not be as they end up. I would go with herbs myself just because you get more from less work and they are popular. The only advice I would like to pass on is to beware of mail order pitfalls. There is nothing wrong with shipping plants by mail as long as you obey the law but the price of shipping is high and constantly changing. It is impossible to claim on your website what shipping charges will be unless you also OWN the shipping company. All the major carriers will offer you a contract spelling out when they will pick up from you and how much shipping your goods will cost. You will then do the math and arrive at a set price to charge your customers. The cost of gas will rise or the weather will hit a mean streak and the contract will be voided by the carrier leaving you in a lurch, unable to raise your posted shipping fees. You now have customers ordering from your website expecting the posted fees (which they think are too high) and you have to take a loss just to get the product out the door. It happens even to the large companies. You get to sign THEIR contract, they won't be signing YOURS. Myself, I stand in line at the post office, postal rates are cheaper than everybody else but they won't come to your door to pick up and they raise them all at one time - no surprises.

Thanks for the link; I'll check it out later. How are the free e-journals progressing? Are the editorial standards as vigorous as for the top-flight print journals? Springer also offers a sort of "best of..." service, in my case I chose Crop Science, articles garnered from an array of their journals. Unfortunately, the notification is monthly and fewer than a dozen articles are posted to me with each email. I had better response from BioMedNet and other similar sites. At one point I received email notifications of a half dozen journals from Springer and could access abstracts. Too often abstracts were not available so I could only access the first line or two of the papers at best. Not very useful or enlightening.

How about using the XP magnifier linked below Grandms?

Too many programs by default set the font size so small it hurts our tired old eye. I have asked others to increase the size, even offering instructions but that is too easy it seems.

Thanks, owbist. Funny thing, but the one person who sends e-mails with the smallest print I've ever seen, uses a Mac and he is a couple of years older than I am. 8-). I have complained to him about this, and one time he did use a slightly larger font setting. I'm wondering if he just doesn't know how to set his font size larger. Not being a Mac user, I don't think I can tell him, either, since I don't know his mail program.

Bobbie,

Have you thought of cut and pasting his e-mail in a fresh email to him so he can see how small it is? Sometimes a visual aid helps.

Or, send him an e-mail with just a period in the body representing his e-mail, and include a hyperlink to a magnifying glass picture next to it. Name the link, "I Need This to Read Your E-mail".

Give me time I can come up with more "helpful" suggestions. :-)

I've been having the same problem with some e-mail...I "select all" and then just enlarge the font
