I also got 2 weird messages this morning. One was from a friend who "added a new photo to the album Wall Photos" and when I went to their page it was not there. I got the same message from "sierra mist". Weird.

My rule is "if it's weird, don't open it."

I too got an message stating that a friend had added a photo to an existing album. (My options are set so that no one can add photos without my permission.)

It looked REALLY legit.

Paula, that must have been unsettling when you've lost your mother, I'm sorry. But I get emails from Facebook too occasionally and I don't participate, am not signed up. They are phishing emails and not from Facebook, don't follow or click on the links...

Here's an odd one for the record books...

Sunday DH and I were watching JESUS: THE LOST 40 DAYS on the History Channel.

While sitting watching the show I decide to work on my laptop. First thing I do is check my Facebook page. When I did, I found I'd been locked out and a message reading "Your account has been temporarily suspended" Facebook has detected suspicious activity on your account and has temporarily suspended it as a security precaution. ... Did you log into Facebook from somewhere new?. Along with the message was a map of where the suspicious activity, attempted log in took place. It was the West Bank of Israel. Kind of freaky.

I proceeded to change my password and log in without any further problems.

It was a real Facebook e-mail. I checked it's origin. I'm not saying it's legit but it wasn't from some phoney baloney sender. I didn't follow any links. I'm in IT. I've been on the internet for many, many years without incident. You get something about your dead mother and you see if you don't open it LOL.

I've had an odd Facebook thing recently, too. A friend of mine must have signed up for High School Yearbook (or some similar thing) on Facebook and I got a message from her inviting me to join, too. I looked into it and read the fine print and realized my friend didn't send the invitation. It was automatically generated. The fine print, when you join, says that High School Yearbook has the right to contact your Facebook friends on your behalf, (and make it look as though it's your friend who is inviting you), etc. etc. That's far too creepyand misleading for me and too invasive. I don't do much on FB and wonder how much longer I'll keep my account!

I've gotten two that say someone has signed in to my account, one from N.H. and one from Pa. Both were phoney I found out when I contacted facebook. To be on the safe side, they said to use a password that you never use on any other site.

Weirder things have happened... maybe it was a message from your mother?

That's what makes this even stranger. I just read that article last week and that happened in a town very close to where I grew up, where my mom lived.

I definitely could and would delete it with out opening it. I have NO facebook and NEVER will however I get emails supposedly from face book about my account and related junk again I HAVE NO ACCOUNT!! It is all BS. Opening suspicious emails leads to trouble.

Facebook is one of the easiest sites to hack it does not matter how secure your password is written. The code that facebook is written with is sloppy and they don't really care because after all they don't care about privacy that has been their stance all along.

To see for yourself simply go to google and search hack facebook the directions are right there. Here it is in fact if you just type the word hack in the google search box the first option that pops up is hack facebook! That is how often it is searched that it is number one in the results.

People live dangerously all the time and they're usually the first to complain when something happens. Go figure as they say. LOL

Can't help with Facebook, don't have it, won't use it. I don't have the ego for it. I also lived quite nicely without Myspace too! LOL
