I wouldn't want them in a kitchen but in my bathroom they're fine. You aren't turning water off and on that much in a lavatory sink. I also find cross handles are easier to finely adjust. The only drawback is for old folks with arthritis or whatnot, but lever handles can always be added when you reach that far-distant day. Generations of children grew up with cross handles, so I don't know where the new helplessness comes from. Plus, I'd think levers would make it easier for careless kids to jam the pedal to the metal and break something.

I am doing a new "old" marble bath, and what my husband and I really liked was the Jado 818 series, with cross handles, in chrome (they also have nickel). It's restrained and classic, and has a faceted hexagonal look that goes with some of the original fixtures in our 1930's house. Jado's pretty spendy though, so I found a cheaper impostor called the "metropolitan" faucet line by Kingston Brass/Elements of Design, and I think it's also being sold on overstock.com as the "metropolitan faucet" in chrome for 99 bucks and 2.95 shipping (129 for chrome and brass). So I've ordered the 99 buck faucet from overstock (where I've always had good luck) and I'm very hopeful. I'll post again once I get it to tell you all about it if you like. Are the side levers ever on the left side? Many (most?) side-handle faucets can be installed with the lever on either side, or even in the front. There are a few threads here on the subject if you want to hunt for them. I always use my left hand to turn it on, too. I think a top handle would be easiest to turn on with my wrist, but the handle in front is working fine for me too. I completely agree with the 2-handle faucets being a pain. Never, never again. lol. (For me the main problem was that since I always turn on with my left hand, I was always turning on the hot water. That and not being able to use my wrist.)

Sorry, my bad. With all the numbers in my head, I always mess up with the size.. It is indeed 60" vanity. It was a tough decision between 54" Bertch Bath Osage in Brindle vs 60" Bertch Marketplace Visage in Sable.I was ready to place the order for 54" when my husband pointed that the toilet will be 14" away from the toilet paper holder(which will be on the vanity side) and that might be an issue with kids. I did not wanted a stand alone holder plus needed someone to give me a push for the 6 drawers as well.:):) One question. My faucet is chrome but I took brushed nickel hardware for the vanity. For the above the vanity light, can I go brushed nickel as well? Will the chrome faucet look odd? I was reading in one of the posts, might be posted by linelle, that we can mix n match the colors as long as they r not different family. Thanks
