Yahoo Mail Problem

I am trying to help my sister with her computer. She says she can not read her e mail on Yahoo, unless she clicks print and reads the printed copy. Any ideas how I can help her.

She has Windows XP. I feel it is a setting that is changed and since I don't use Yahoo myself, I am stumped.

My Yahoo web based free email account has two different interfaces. Classic & New Fangled Updated version.

Maybe she can look around toward the top of the page and figure out how to switch to the version she isnt using.

Classic opens your mail after you click the subject on a new webpage. I forget how the new fangled version works as I dont use it except by accident.

Mine works fine . Yahoo in the news lately said starting this week they encrypt all emails for security enhancements. And all searches and messenger stuff to follow. So maybe they hit a snafu on your server or you not accessing with HTTPS or something simple.. Hopefully it will automatically fix it self fast for you... Might help it along by running something like CCleaner to clear your internet cache and restart the computer to make sure a good flush of dns cache.

I don't have an Ipad so have no clue. There are some nice forums on apple I am sure and people would know or maybe someone here with an Ipad has a suggestion. Even on the computer I back up my address book and my favorites as you just never know if something might happened and you would need to reload them. Mary

Or maybe you don't access your account as often and just missed the window of downtime. Its problems are way more often this last week than other times. It's acting up right now. Try the link I have farther up the thread, and you'll see how large a chunk of time it's been misbehaving today. It's a moving graph so it won't show you Monday, for instance. not right this moment for me, but it was earlier and it absolutely was on Monday. Or maybe I only hit it when it wasn't working. Either way, I think you're dismissing things you shouldn't dismiss. Yahoo is having trouble right now. It'd be nice if it worked every time one opened their mail. Which is what one would expect from a mail provider. I've been with them for a very long time. It's my only email provider outside of work. I won't change. But to say it's smooth sailing, what's wrong with you? just shows you're either A) lucky, B) don't access it as often as others, or C) are oblivious(?).
