I just wanted to post that I was out at the National Arboretum a few weeks ago. The large Q. acutas looked like they sustained some damage from teh past winter. Some twig and a few branches died back. Sad to see. But they will certainly survive. The Q. salicina looked like it had NO damage at all surprisingly. I have never seen acorns on them. Interestingly the Q. phillyreoides had some acorns. No apparent dieback. They all looked rather shrubby to me and not large single trunked trees. L. henyri and Q. myrsinifolias looked just fine. Q. glauca specimens at the Arboretum have all had a rough go of it over the years. Numerous diebacks. Pretty pathetic. They should really not be grown up here. But maybe they got some northern provenance stock that they wanted to try. I didn't see where they were from. Unrelated, but all the hollies looked great. Even Ilex latifolia. The Ilex latifolia in my yard looks great as well. No apparent winter damage. A small amount of leaf spot but overall I was very pleased. Well it seems that with all our help you should be able to sort out your machine! I know a huge fuss is made over hackers getting into computer systems, but now you see why they do it. The internet is dominated by a computer program/s and a company that has put out a flawed product and expects everyone to suck the big one themselves if something is wrong with it. I have always used programs that have nothing to do with the big corporate softeware giants and have never had spyware, virus or other problems (touch wood ;-)) that sound as bad as yours...as for my wifes advice 'format c' and use firefox!!! Get someone in who knows what they are doing to fix the problems by reformatting your hard drive, don't let them install any unecessary programs...like IE. Use firefox and get the same person to set it up so you don't pick up extra junk, use the firewall, adblock etc. Finally, be very careful on which links you choose to look at, there are so many bogus ones out there. As for people complaining about ads...what ads? I don't see them...Yay for firefox!!! Wazzimodo

I had to load "Ad Block" and "Script Block" on Fire Fox just to keep this site viewable. It is a shame when such a great site would rather sell out to commercials and harass its real supporters. I have joined Jon's site and hope to see all the wonderful folks from here over there too. I will still visit here but will shift my loyalties to the "Encanto Forum". Herman you should have your web site back up, you have just as much right to it as they do to their site, you are not competing with GW or its advertisers. Just this incident should have generated enough publicity to get you started and hopefully by word of mouth and email create some business for you. Don't give up! Woody.
