I use Yahoo email and am not having any problems.

Mine makes me log in with my name. Then I have to hit enter and then it allows my password and I have to hit enter again. It's a change from what I used to do.

Sometimes it won't let me look at my emails right away. I heard someplace that I probably opted out of some advertising. This is Yahoo's way of encouraging me to allow more.

The space for my password does not even load in nor a place to hit enter. My internet is terribly slow since the rain and has not improved in some days.

Yes. It has been that way for a few days. First they want to know my email, (which they've had since day one.) Then it gets really complicated and they want to send me a new password change thing. Then they want me to "prove I'm not a robot." Yikes! This is not Fort Knox! None of that has helped, so I'm just waiting until my GSIL comes by and he can fix it for me. I only use it with Houzz anyway.

Just curious - how does the rain affect the Internet?

I have two Yahoo accounts (one Yahoo and one Yahoo/att) and both are working fine today, but I do have problems with both from time to time.

When it rains, my phone lines get wet for some reason and it is always very slow then. I just have dial up. Right now I am only connected at 21600 bps. It gets even lower than that at times. When it gets so low, I can not even get to my email and sometimes not even here.

For a while now, I'll click on a message and it just sits there and buffers waiting too long to open. This is happening too often and is frustrating. Sometimes it works if I click on the reply or forward button, then the message appears, but not always.

As Adellabella and Jasdip said, it's now a two step process. You put your e-mail address in, press enter, then your password. I just hope it doesn't go like Google. I have a work account at Gmail and they put cookies in to force you to have a single sign in, but I don't want to be signed in as work on my personal stuff. It's too much trouble to delete the cookie, every time, so I only check my work e-mail on my iPad. Which is very inconvenient. I sometimes have to work on Google docs on the computer, and then I have to deal with the whole thing. I don't know what people who share a computer do!

Yahoo just offered to do a similar combined inbox thing, but it seems to be voluntary. So far.

After you sign in, it may prompt you to add a cell phone number. In little blue letters, there's a "skip for now", which you can keep on skipping. At which point, it might dump you on the Yahoo home page. Mail is in the upper right hand corner, an envelope icon with a red bug saying how many new e-mails you have.

Jasdip, As to the length of time to draw an e-mail, it's probably a bandwidth issue, especially if you're getting HTML videos with a lot of visual information, rather than text. It can multiply if your computer is older and your display is slower. If it's taking a lot longer to draw than a web page you haven't seen before, it might also be advertising. Remember those awful advertising experiments that they did on us at GW? Sometimes even if you have an ad blocker, you have to wait while the ad doesn't load!

Thanks for your info, but my problem is my phone line, not here at the house, we live in the country and apparently from time to time, field mice like to chew the wires that are in the ground and that lets water into the lines. I have a hum on my phone line and will have to call in the problem I guess, but will have to check outside at the box first making sure the problem is not in the house. I know how to sign into my Yahoo email but when things don't load in there is no place to sign in. It has righted itself now that I can get to the email but still terribly slow. I have to sign in every couple of weeks or so, not each time. When I feel better I will take a phone outside and deal with the phone problem. Thanks.

I'm having to deal wit the two-step sign-in process, as well, but I thought that it was related to my wanting to click the "Keep me signed in" box off.

I have to click on "Skip for now" with the request for Mobile contact, as well - for I'm not thusly equipped.

Oh, I didn't realize that you weren't getting a fully drawn sign in screen at all. If that happens again, you can force a redraw of the screen with CTRL+R (or "command" on a mac).

Success! I am back on Yahoo! I had to change my password, but don't know why. Fingers crossed to see how this one works.
