Vent Options

I'm tired of pulling my hair out so I thought I would ask for some help. :)

I do not have any options for external venting. I've looked at recirculating hoods (with vents on their face) but I'm not happy with their appearance plus there are not many options.

Most of my messy cooking (blackened stuff, etc...) is outside on my BigGreenEgg and we do not do much frying.

I'm considering just buying a standard under cabinet hood and venting it up through the cabinet(9ft ceilings) and have it blow out behind the molding. I know it won't get the odors outside but if it catches some grease and pulls the smoke out of my face that would be great.

I cannot find a under cabinet hood that lists this as an option (I'm guessing since it is less than ideal) but wondered if anyone has tried it or sees any issues I might have (safety, etc...).

Any thoughts or suggestions?
