Does Spyware Terminator give the file path and location of the Trojan?

ok when you do other tasks that require admin rights are you able to do those or does something come up saying you are not admin? It sounds like it may be a false positive to me. If malwarebytes is not hitting on it and neither is superantispyware I don't think I would worry too much.

does it show the path to that supposed file? if so what I would do is try to submit it to joti or virus total and see what shows there.

Yes Terminator does show the path in the results scan. Since I've had to delete things in the registry, with help from you guys before, I found two and tried to delete them. It wouldn't do it and said I need to be the admin. So maybe it did get removed and I'm getting a false positive.

As for other things requiring rights, I tried and nothing popped up. So that's good news.

Still the little network icon has a red X on it. I'm thinking it might of cleared the password out from the router, if that's possible, so in the morning I'll call my ISP and get those and see.

In Vista and other operating systems Because of the additional permissions, some files (or registry settings) can't be changed by a certain user account (even the administrator accounts). You would need to take permissions of the registry key that your trying to delete, write to or manipulate.

The only time I get a red X on the 2 computers in the task bar is if a cable is in fact disconnected. I know you checked the cables but they can go bad.

OK, this is what I've found out so far.

My ISP was having problems at the time all this started and everything works at their end.

When I start the computer this morning the firewall (Comodo) popped up saying something was trying to create a new file or directory but it wasn't sure if it was safe and I needed to check it. I blocked it but left the remember my action unchecked for now just in case it is needed it will come back up and I can allow it to run.

The file was windows\system32\logfiles\wmi\rtbackup\rtmsmppssession.etl. I'll look into it to see what I find out.

As for the network part. I borrowed a friends laptop and plugged the ethernet cable in and there was nothing wrong. So everything is good from cable to the ISP end of things.

This time boot back to the windows advanced options menu. Instead of choosing Safe Mode, go down the list using the arrow key and select Safe Mode With Networking enter www.Google.com in the address bar and see if you can connect to google. Don't surf in this mode no Anti Virus or firewall will be on. That's the idea to see if any of these programs are causing a connection issue.

If that fails on more thing to try always one more thing to try,

Then:

Save it as a flush.bat to your desktop.
Go to the desktop and Double-click the flush.bat file to run it. Your computer will reboot.

Note: For Windows Vista or Windows 7, right-click flush.bat and select "Run as Administrator".

Type notepad.exe into you search box in the start menu. Notepad will open.

I am just wondering if something got changed in settings for administrator, take a look at this thread on one of the microsoft forums, some similar issues. The directions given by Arthur_Li might be worth checking.

I don't see an administrator issue here. Not sure where your going with that.....

If the user can right click a program and choose "Run as administrator" then there is no issue. Having the user change permissions on a file or registry setting or key so they can delete it not good. There set for a reason. We are not sure what there trying to delete too. At least I'm not.

I see a red x in the task bar and unable to connect to the internet. Then I see comondo firewall on Vista too. If the safemode networking and the .Bat file don't work. We should look in the Device Manger and uninstall the Network Adapter and reboot. If that fails boot to the advanced options menu and instead of choosing Safe Mode choose the option "Repair Your Computer." and see where it is at that point.

Found out what the problem might be. I borrowed a friends laptop and plug the cable in from my computer. His computer network icon connected just find. Some one told me that it might be the network card had gone out.

I'll replace it and see.

That's why I thought it was a cable issue, cause of the red x. It usually indicates a disconnected cable. When you plug that cable in I think you should see a green or amber light on the card indicating the network card is getting the signal.
