Sliding glass shower door vs curtain for 96 x 51 bathroom
Comments (5)You can counteract the dark color of walls and floor with a light brightly colored fabric shower curtain. Buy something pretty and install a tie-back on one side so when dry it can be swept back and provide that open look. It will give the bathroom that sense of "finish" for when prospective tenants come to view your rental. The last thing you want to do down the road is try to restore glass doors that haven't been properly maintained....See MoreWhat do you think - shower curtain or glass door
Comments (13)The vanity is dark (but not espresso or ebony) wood in something between transitional and contemporary style, nothing traditional or vintage, but not super modern either) , although we're definitely leaning toward a modern vibe this go-around. As for the cost, I love the cost of the shower curtain liner from Target ($2.39 plus $.99 for the rings) but a shower door was in the original budget, so that's good (we're on budget). Thanks for all your thoughts. We'll probably live with the curtain for a few weeks and then decide, but I'd guess we'll go for the door....See MoreShower curtain or glass doors in guest bathroom?
Comments (9)The shower curtain will save you a lot of money; hundreds or even thousands depending how fancy you get. The curtain is also more practical if you have a few small kids in there. So I would buy two or three so you can always put a clean one up for guests. Also hang/use the curtain so that it falls inside the bath. The way it's shown in the picture above will just allow water to fall on the floor........also in your floor remodel get a waterproof crack isolation membrane installed like Nobleseal TS or maybe something like Ditra. This will waterproof the floor and help stop tile and grout cracking. I dd that on my floor and it's rock solid....See Moreshower curtain in front of glass door?
Comments (1)I suppose that could come down to a matter of taste. I think your rod placement and curtain length are fine - they look like my own in my guest bath. The other two baths in this house are tiled to, and including, the ceilings but the same age guest bath (1955) is not. As for the clear shower door, I'd leave it. Bright, light, fresh, airy. That glass will have to be kept free of spots of course. I'm trying to imagine how much more privacy a guest would want when they've closed the door to the room. A small corner stool on which to place hair care items etc temporarily for those guests who may not be able to bend easily (or safely) might be thoughtful. I travel with a minimum of products and would be happy with less in a shower design than I might plan for my daily use at home....See More- 16 years ago
