Windows live mail

I have Windows 7 and use Windows Live Mail. Mozilla Firefox for my default browser. A few days ago the problem started. The Inbox messages when "maximized" with the rectangular icon in the upper right corner are so large that they go off the right edge of the screen and scrolling is not accessible. No one else touched the computer and I did not knowingly make any changes.

Any way to correct this?

Try using IE8, that came with your W7 and whatever home page you choose, willing to bet NP's

I tried that suggestion, as best I could understand it. No improvement.

Might try while WLM is open to press F1 key fwiw.. I have username@Hotmail.com If I send mail to my username@Live.com it doesnt get delivered. So I would have to open a brand new account to have the same address & then would have two unique email accounts at two different web address's.

Well, Joe, today the check mark is gone and I can stay online while using my mail program. I have no idea how this happened to begin with, nor do I have any idea how it corrected itself. Just glad it's working again. And, I did reboot several times, too.

DA, If I'm right in knowing which tension causing member (TCM) you're referring to, I think he is motivated to help and not to cause tension. For some, any difference of opinion causes tension, whether that's intended or not. But paradoxically as your later comment concerning hypersensitivity and PC-ness shows, some differences of opinion can be difficult to wrap in a pillow and so it is. I think TCM tries to be polite. TCM has observed a lot of well-intentioned advice and recommendations in this forum that seem more akin to folk remedies than well accepted, mainstream advice. TCM seems to speak up in such cases, and in doing so perhaps (undeliberately) rattled a few cages of those who had become folk medicine dispensers and followers without knowing it. I think there are some who think some of the PC folk medicine that has been entrenched here is real medicine and some don't know the difference.

try using your cursor and go up to the top edge of the box(up by where you see the maximize button to the right of that on that part of the bar) click and drag the box over to the left so you can get to the right bottom corner, then put your cursor over that corner and it should turn into a double sided arrow, click and drag that corner to resize the box smaller so it fits in the window. Once it is back to the right size using that method, close it, preferably if there is a file option at the top then the close or quit there use that rather than x out.

To resize the reading pane on the Mail page, hold your pointer over the boundary between the reading pane and your message list, and then click and drag the boundary.

I tried all those suggestions and now have a bigger mess. The Change layout works while looking as the list and the preview pane together. But when looking at just one message full screen, the top margin is now about halfway down the screen, the left is away from the edge of the screen to the right, and the right margin is out of sight toward the right. Click and drag no longer works.

did you possibly change to classic since you say you no longer have click and drag?
I personally always advise totally disabling the preview pane since it is a security problem.

Some of the terminology has me confused. I suppose "preview" is where the message list is on the left and the individual message open at the moment is shown on the right about half screen width. That function is working correctly. When I double click on that open message in the (left) list, it opens full screen (maximized) but with the right edge completely off screen so that the vertical scrolling bar is not visible nor usable.
