I think the chest that the message referred to is the Avast and that is where I moved the virus to.

If it is a legitimate virus what do I do it? Do I leave it in the chest or what do I do with the virus now that it is in the chest?

As zep stated,it is a legitimate program. What you need to do is to restore it back where it belongs. What version of avast do you have? 4.8 or 5.0? Let us know. We'll go from there with directions if you need them.

It's a program or file that is mis-identified as a virus by your Anti-Virus program because the definition database of your Anti-Virus program does not recognize it. These are usually corrected by updates.

I have avast 4.8. SO should I updAte my Avast too?

Don't up date yet. I'll get you instruction for returning the file to it's proper location from the chest. It's no big deal but if you don't do it this program System Mechanic Professional may not function and it looks like you may have paid for it.

Open Avast program
Click on the "Chest" then locate the file that you want to restore.
Right-click the file then select "restore"

Then I would up date Avast 5.0 see link. You can install right over top no need to uninstall old version

Thanks for your help on this. Do you have any idea why Avast would have thought this was a virus? I have had this sotware for a couple of years.

I am not sure why all of a sudden it detected it though unless a recent update caused the false detection.

Is Avast free? And will it work with McAfee or do I need to remove McAfee?

No Avast will not work with McAfee. McAfee can be difficult to uninstall and you should run a specialized removal tool called the McAfee Consumer product Removal tool. It's suggested you follow the steps in the link provided. Then install Avast.

I have had Avast 5 since it first came out. Yesterday, I believe, a program update came out, and evidently there were some core changes since my Online Armor firewall asked permission for all sorts of things involving Avast just after this update came. So maybe this false positive was one of the things that precipitated this update. It seems whenever Avast gives a false positive, they make a update to correct it ASAP.

I have installed the new 5.0 avast and the virus warning has now gone away. I installed all the new updates for Avast also.
