I think it would be nice to put the toilet at the end of the room and maybe a tall matching vanity cabinet next to it. I don't know the minimum amount of depth a tub or shower takes, but you would have a much nicer aisle in the bathroom if the shower and tub were kept at 42 in deep, especially the tub. A pocket door would be really nice, but if you wanted a swing door, I would do the tall vanity behind the door swing.

I love your choices, and second the idea of adding some black trim in the white. I think that it would be amazing. Are you thinking of crackle tile in the shower? If so, double-check if that is ok. I a have crackle finish backsplash in my kitchen and the manufacturer recommended sealing the tile to prevent any stains from food splashes seeping in through the cracks. That makes me think that it might not be a great option for a wet installation like a shower. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I am can chime in.

Not a pro ... just some thoughts for when you talk with one: If nothing is off limits, have you considered creating a master bedroom suite upstairs above the garage ? Your drawing doesn't indicate from which side the vehicles enter the garage -- something which could make a huge difference as to whether or not this other idea is at all practical: Have you considered enclosing the exterior area between the garage and front door to make that a new front entry hall which would be the only connecting point between the garage and the house -- then adding a new porch/stoop entry? This could enable you to put a bath and one of the bedrooms against the garage wall -- away from the other one or two bedrooms (for more privacy). Then you could put either one bedroom (with full bath) or two (children's) bedrooms (with a Jack&Jill bath) where the three bedrooms are now ? With one master suite upstairs, you could even end up with the equivalent of three master suites How many people live in your home and the ages of the children could make a difference in these decisions. [Note: If changing the access between house and and garage appeals to you but altering the front to create a new entry garage/house connection (moving the door from the garage to the house to the front) is not practical, perhaps such an addition could be added at the back?] Do let us know how your project progresses.

Without changing the footprint: *you can have glass showers to make it feel larger. * you can wall mount the toilet to give more space to maneuver * i would also reconsider the vanity and wonder of you are using the storage. if you can move the storage space to wall mounted storage you can make the space feel larger with a pedestal sink * the bathroom with a blue vanity may get a small win from moving the faucet to the adjoining wall. get a super narrow (12-18 inch) but long vanity there
