white subway tile shower - have a question and looking for photos

We are thinking of doing a shower with white subway tile on the walls. We would love to see photos of what people have done. (We are still trying to design our bathroom.) Also, what kind of tile do you use on the floor of a shower with white subway tiles on the wall?

I haven't officially posted my completed remodel yet, but here is a picture of my shower. Also do a search on google images you'll find lots of pictures ideas.

We did dal tile white subways (not the super white one...I can never remember the color name) with grey grout and a 2x2 mosaic marble floor. Looks great, but right now it's under paper while the painters and drywallers are finishing up.

Daltile and American Olean (same company now) have a few. I used one of their chair rail tiles which comes in at least 3 different shades of white. They also make more decorative 'relief' trim/border tiles. Beware, the trim pieces can be absurdly expensive!

leavemeout: If you are dissatisfied with the color of your grout, you can either make it white again or change the color by using Grout Colorant. You can either recolor the grout white or even change to gray if you want. The colorant (I used Aquamix) is epoxy based and has a sealer in it and in my opinion it was very easy to apply. You put it on with a toothbrush or paint brush and then wipe off the areas where it smears on the tile. I used it on my kitchen floor and it really made a huge difference.

I like the contrasting gray grout, but for resale (in my area - mostly 100 year old homes, HCOL) I'd definitely go with matching (white) grout (well, just a bit off white to hide dirt). While many do like the gray grout on white tile, plenty are turned off by it. I doubt many buyers would be actually turned off by white grout on white tile. Its just 'safer,' at least according to real estate agents where I live (I asked many when I was doing my master bath). And, if the tile work isn't very straight, the contrasting color will magnify that problem. With similar color grout you won't notice tile issues as much. I guess the best thing to do - if you are concerned about resale - is ask a real estate broker in your town. HTH!

I saw the photo of the shower floor, and thought it was the 2 x 2 mosaic.

Thanks! It's 1x1 carrar mosaic. I wanted to incorporate a mosaic somewhere but at the same time wanted everything be soothing and not too busy so the shower floor was the perfect spot for it. I'll try to post my completed bathroom thread this afternoon.
