Does anyone regret their white cabinets?
Comments (47)Speaking as a landlord and home owner. I find for the city pad, the white gloss look makes a very modern and it will tend to popular for young people which rent the apartment. I would not favour anything apart from cream for your own home. I have a house in a large village and it is not a city pad now large enough to have granite and ivory classic look. The cream is a natural colour and like magnolia which the nation loves for a natural look around the home, the kitchen in cream will ensure your home remains very attractive for your diner party guests, visitors and ultimately a sale. Of a recent Facebook request, around 10 people responded. 8 opted for cream, 1 ivory and one brilliant white and the age range was wide and understood our brief. My issue now is to convince my wife whom is anti-clutter and OCD clean focussed and is really upset if I do not buy a white one... could you spend £6,500 on a kitchen you do not like the colour?...See MoreDoes anyone have white subway tile with stained wood cabinets?
Comments (9)Thank you everyone- your kitchens are lovely! I can only hope mine turns out as nice when it is finally finished. Vjrnts: Your soapstone is so cool- what type is that? My cabs are maple but a similar shade so it really gave me an idea of what it would look like. Bunglogirl: Thanks for the pic-- I have the same sink - it looks really nice with the tile. Sarchlos-remoodeler: if you can dig up that pic it would be greatly appreciated- sounds pretty. Thank you all....See MoreAnyone regret marble tile in shower?
Comments (19)The Sequelo is more rustic. I finalized and ordered my tile today. I switched the floor planks to Seta in Silver because it's a much lighter look. It is in 6x24, but the store had a floor display laid out in herringbone and it looked great. http://www.besttile.com/Tile-Collection.aspx?pid=384&cid=19 I also switched back to shower walls of honed marble, but the shower floor in a ceramic tile in a grey to coordinate. I was more concerned over having a marble floor than marble shower walls, since there are only two walls (other walls are glass). It will be sealed before and after grouting. I'm using the Seta 12x24" plank for the 4' shower bench seat. Since I couldn't order a few tiles (had to order a box), I'm also using the Seta Silver in the laundry room. Everything's ordered. Sheetrock went up today and the hardwood floor material was just delivered to let it acclimate before install....See MoreAnyone know of white subway tile in two sizes with matching trim?
Comments (13)That's a nice shower. I believe we used a 2x4 accent in our 4x8 shower because the tile walls wrapped around and we wanted the smaller tile for the vanity backslash. I know you said it's not enough of a size difference for you but this is what it looks like. I wanted to use a pencil tile between the 2 different sizes but DH didn't want to because of pooling water, difficulty using the squeegee to wipe down the walls, etc. I really like the way it turned out and the clean lines!...See MoreBunny
