Clamps or U-Channel (Frameless Glass Shower)
Comments (12)I have a 3/8" u channel on the top of my pony wall which is the only glass I have in my shower. The glass place insisted that there was no such thing as a 3/8" u channel and tried to sell me a 3/4" but I googled it to show them otherwise and pushed them and they ordered it. It looks great and is much less visible....See Morewater inside u channel under shower door

Comments (40)HI-I know this is an old thread but I am searching for a company in Pennsylvania to fabricate and embed the a 3 sided glass shower enclosure with one door into the granite sill. I have not found any who will take care of creating the channel in the granite. So many opinions from different installers!! "exposed channel is cleaner looking" "clips are cleaner looking" "exposed channel will pit" "clips will get mildew in the silicone" "recessed channel will get dirty".....I am wondering how liamrperry's shower glass turned out? Any problems?Thanks....See MoreIsland girl needs help with frameless shower door pleae
Comments (6)Hi we just put our shower panel, return panel and door in recently and am very happy with the clamps. So Happy! I think I would be very unhappy with the uchannel and header. In fact, the 1st estimator would only install the unchannel and header. I was very bummed to get that esitmate...but after pereservering, The 2nd and 3rd esitmates said they could use the clamps, but would have to put the panel all the way to the ceiling ( we were missing a stud for the door side so they need to use the ceiling for extra support) It might be a trickier install, but it looks so much better. We also did not cualk at the base so a little bit of water comes out at shower time, but I would rather clean up water than have a gloppy moldy mess from the silicone caulk. I hope I can post pictures soon. Good Luck!...See Moremillworkman
